Miles Mikolas allowed five runs (three earned) and got a no-decision in the Cardinals’ 14-7 victory over the Yankees on Sunday.
Mikolas gave up seven hits, walked none and struck out five. Mikolas was staked to a 7-2 lead, but failed to record an out in the fifth inning. Paul Goldschmidt didn’t help matters with a missed catch error, but Mikolas allowed four hits in the fifth inning alone before he was removed. It’s the third time in his last five starts that he’s allowed five runs. Mikolas is 8-10 with a 5.27 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 107 strikeouts in 153 2/3 innings on the year. The 36-year-old right-hander is set to face the Mariners at home next week.
