Royals optioned OF Tyler Gentry to Triple-A Omaha.
Gentry will get the boot from the active roster with the Royals adding Tommy Pham and Robbie Grossman off waivers Friday. Gentry could get another shot to play before the season ends, but it seems more likely he competes for a spot in 2025.

Padres placed RHP Jhony Brito on the 15-day injured list with a right forearm strain.
Brito finished last year on the injured list with a right elbow sprain and will head back to the shelf at the outset of the regular season. It’s unclear when he’ll be ready to rejoin San Diego’s pitching mix.
  • LAA Shortstop #9
Angels placed SS Zach Neto on the 10-day injured list with a right shoulder injury.
Neto is still working his way back from off-season shoulder surgery. His recovery has been going well, and the Angels have said that they think he could return at some point in April.
  • SD Relief Pitcher #25
Padres placed RHP Sean Reynolds on the 15-day injured list with a right foot stress reaction.
Reynolds was in the mix for the final spot in San Diego’s season-opening rotation before suffering a foot injury. It’s unclear when he’ll be ready to return.
  • MIL Starting Pitcher #36
Brewers placed RHP Tobias Myers on the 15-day injured list with a left oblique strain.
This move is purely procedural. Myers was diagnosed with the oblique strain on March 15th and will likely be out for another three weeks before returning to the Brewers’ rotation.
  • SD Relief Pitcher #78
Padres placed RHP Bryan Hoeing on the 15-day injured list with a right shoulder strain.
Hoeing remains without a return timetable after being shut down last month with shoulder soreness.
  • SD First Baseman #10
Padres selected the contracts of 1B Yuli Gurriel, 2B Jose Iglesias and C Martín Maldonado from Triple-A El Paso.
No surprises here as these moves were expected. All three veterans will open the regular season with spots on San Diego’s bench, but won’t make much of a fantasy impact, if any.
  • CWS Starting Pitcher #53
White Sox selected the contract of RHP Mike Clevinger from Charlotte Knights.
The 34-year-old didn’t allow a run this spring, while striking out eight, walking just one, and allowing three hits in six innings. Not only did he make the White Sox, but there’s a good chance he will be the team’s closer to start the season. He’s worth an add in most formats.
  • SD Relief Pitcher #60
Padres recalled LHP Omar Cruz from Triple-A El Paso.
Cruz was optioned to the minors earlier this month, but winds up getting the final spot on San Diego’s season-opening roster. He’ll operate in middle relief for the Padres.
  • SD Shortstop #5
Padres designated INF Eguy Rosario and INF Tyler Wade for assignment.
The move clears a pair of spots on San Diego’s season-opening roster for veterans Yuli Gurriel, Jose Iglesias and Martín Maldonado.
  • CWS Third Baseman #44
White Sox placed INF Bryan Ramos on the 10-day injured list with a right elbow strain.
Ramos had lost the starting third base job to Miguel Vargas, but had a chance to claim the second base or designated hitter job before suffering the injury. There is currently no set timeline for his return.
