Matt Chapman went 3-for-4 with a solo homer on Tuesday in a win over the Brewers.
Chapman has fit in perfectly with the Giants in his San Francisco debut this season as his latest multi-hit performance raises his OPS to a robust .776 as he’s up to 21 round-trippers and a career-high 13 stolen bases through 130 contests. The 31-year-old impending free agent has been engaged in discussions to return to San Francisco on a long-term extension, but he’ll likely wind up cashing in if he reaches the open market in a couple months as one of the premier free agents out there.

Nolan Schanuel doubled in the top of the 11th to plate the game’s only run as the Angels beat the Yankees 1-0 on Monday.
He then saved the tying run in the bottom of the inning after lunging off the bag at first to prevent an errant throw from Zach Neto allowing Aaron Judge to score. Schanuel also singled earlier in the contest. Because of his lack of power, he’s certainly not very exciting for fantasy purposes. However, with a .285/.377/.398 line in 287 plate appearances, he’s been a pretty solid regular for the Angels this season.
Fantasy impact of Ohtani returning to mound
James Schiano explains the fantasy implications of Shohei Ohtani being expected to make his Dodgers pitching debut Monday night, sharing how fantasy baseball team managers should handle Ohtani's return to the mound.
  • LAA Starting Pitcher #59
José Soriano scattered six hits over seven scoreless frames against the Yankees on Monday.
Soriano wasn’t as dominant as when he struck out 12 against the A’s last time out, but it was another excellent, WHIP-lowering effort, as he matched his season-low with one walk. His ERA has dropped from 4.11 to 3.54 in his last two starts. His WHIP, once nearly the worst in the league at 1.59, is back to 1.46. He’ll face the Astros next.
  • LAA Relief Pitcher #60
Hunter Strickland got a one-out save in the Angels’ 11-inning win over the Yankees on Monday.
Kenley Jansen pitched a scoreless ninth in a tie game tonight. It should have been Brock Burke’s save, but Zach Neto bobbled a grounder and made a wild throw on what would have been the final play of the game. Strickland then took over and got Anthony Volpe to roll a ball to third to end it. A great surprise for the Angels, Strickland has yet to allow a run in 14 1/3 innings since being called up last month. Still, he’s probably not going to be in line for more save chances unless something happens to Jansen.
  • NYY Starting Pitcher #36
Clarke Schmidt shut out the Angels for 7 2/3 innings in a no-decision Monday.
Another scoreless start for Schmidt. He gave up three runs in the first against the Guardians on June 4, but that’s the only time in his last four outings that he’s been scored upon. Unfortunately, he went without any run support tonight, so he remained 3-3 with a 3.16 ERA through 11 starts. He’ll face the Orioles on Saturday.
  • NYY Right Fielder #27
Giancarlo Stanton went 2-for-4 with a double in his season debut Monday against the Angels.
The double, a hard grounder that went through third baseman Luis Rengifo, led off the bottom of the ninth in a scoreless ninth. Stanton was then removed for pinch-runner Jasson Domínguez, who was quickly retired on a grounder that reached Rengifo at third at basically the same time Domínguez did, resulting in a little collision and a great tag play from Rengifo. Stanton’s balls in play tonight were hit 101.5, 111.1 and 102.9 mph. He also struck out once.
  • TB 2nd Baseman #8
Brandon Lowe went 2-for-5 with a two-run homer on Monday, powering the Rays to a lopsided 7-1 victory over the Orioles.
The Rays continue to roll with Lowe leading the charge on Monday night. He took Orioles starter Zach Eflin deep with a 426-foot moonshot to right-center field in the fourth inning to give Tampa Bay a commanding 5-1 lead at the time. It was his 14th long ball of the season and keeps him on pace to get back to the 30-homer threshold for the first time since the 2021 campaign.
  • BAL Catcher #35
Adley Rutschman belted a solo homer on Monday in a blowout loss to the Rays.
There weren’t a lot of positive takeaways for the Orioles during this one-sided affair, but Rutschman managed to sneak a towering blast over the right-field wall in the fourth inning for his eighth big fly of the season. Unfortunately, it represented the lone tally on the night for Baltimore as Ryan Pepiot twirled an impressive eight-inning gem.
  • TB Starting Pitcher #44
Ryan Pepiot recorded a season-high 11 strikeouts and allowed one run over eight innings on Monday in a win over the Orioles.
Pepiot fell just one strikeout shy of matching his career-high in the strikeout department as he authored a masterful performance at extremely hitter-friendly George M. Steinbrenner Field against a fully-stocked Orioles lineup, needing just 98 pitches to navigate eight frames. The 27-year-old righty generated an eye-popping 18 swinging strikes, with nearly half of those coming on his four-seam fastball, to finish with an elite 40 percent CSW. A fourth-inning solo shot from Baltimore franchise cornerstone Adley Rutschman was the lone blemish in this one. He’s allowed three earned runs or fewer in 11 consecutive starts dating back to April 20. He’ll bring a stellar 3.11 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 84/26 K/BB ratio across 89 2/3 innings (15 starts) into a tough home matchup on Saturday against the Tigers.
  • BAL Starting Pitcher #24
Zach Eflin was torched for seven runs over five innings on Monday in a loss to the Rays.
It’s not what you want to see. Eflin was shelled for a staggering 12 hits, including a pair of home runs, as he gave up at least one run in each of his five frames of work. He struck out two and also issued a pair of walks. The unexpected implosion halts a three-start run where he had completed at least seven six innings and allowed three earned runs or fewer. He’ll attempt to rebound on Saturday when he faces the Yankees in a challenging road tilt.
  • PHI Shortstop #7
Trea Turner went 3-for-5 with a solo homer and two RBI on Monday, propelling the Phillies to a 5-2 victory over the Marlins.
Turner kicked off an impressive three-hit performance with a leadoff homer against Marlins starter Sandy Alcantara before tacking on a pivotal insurance run with a seventh-inning single to left field. The 31-year-old speedy shortstop, who is hitting .312 (39-for-125) with six homers and nine steals over his last 30 games, has already matched last year’s stolen base total with 19 thefts through 70 games. He’s also on pace to reach the 20-homer plateau for the fifth consecutive season.
