  • ATL Right Fielder #43
Braves signed OF Harold Ramirez to a minor league contract.
The Braves continue to stockpile outfield depth, anyone with a pulse and any modicum of success in the big leagues gets an opportunity on a minor league deal. Ramirez was released by the Nationals last week after posting a .638 OPS with one homer and 16 RBI in 25 games with the ballclub. He’ll report to Triple-A Gwinnett.
  • NYY Second Baseman #26
DJ LeMahieu said he had a cortisone shot for his sore hip and that he hopes to come off the IL before the end of the season.
LeMahieu will be eligible to return for the final nine days, but it might not happen, at least not unless someone else on the roster gets hurt. He’s just not in the Yankees’ plans at the moment.
  • COL Starting Pitcher #49
The Rockies will activate Antonio Senzatela to make his season debut Monday against the Diamondbacks.
Senzatela underwent Tommy John surgery last July. He blew out a knee in 2022 and made just two starts before getting hurt last year, so it’s been quite an ordeal for the sinkerballer. He has a 5.29 ERA in five rehab starts over the last month.
  • NYY Right Fielder #27
The Yankees are planning on sitting Giancarlo Stanton and DHing Aaron Judge in Saturday’s game against the Red Sox.
That will allow both Alex Verdugo and Jasson Domínguez start in the outfield. Aaron Boone was forced to reveal the plan tonight because of questions regarding Domínguez’s absence.
  • ARI Starting Pitcher #29
Merrill Kelly, who left his last outing with hamstring cramping, is expected to make his next start Monday against the Rockies.
The Diamondbacks could push him to Tuesday if he’s still dealing with any issues at all, but Monday is the expectation.
  • SF Shortstop #49
Tyler Fitzgerald is day-to-day after an MRI on his back showed no structural damage.
Fitzgerald left Thursday’s game due to what was described as lower back tightness. He’s out of the Giants lineup tonight. The newly recalled Donovan Walton is getting the nod over Marco Luciano in Fitzgerald’s place.
  • SF Right Fielder #8
Michael Conforto is on the bench for a third straight game Friday.
The Giants have decided taking a look at Jerar Encarnacion is more important than getting Conforto his at-bats. It definitely suggests that Conforto, whose .229/.307/.430 line gives him a 110 OPS+, won’t be invited back as a free agent this winter.
  • SEA Third Baseman #4
Josh Rojas is making a ninth straight start at third base for the Mariners on Friday.
The Mariners aren’t interested in trying anything new right now; the only variation in their starting lineup these last six games was a result of Victor Robles missing two days. Luis Urías last played third base over Rojas on Sept. 4, which was also the last time the Mariners faced a lefty. Urías had a homer, two doubles and four RBI that day. Rojas has one homer, three doubles and three RBI in his last 30 games combined. He’s hit .198/.276/.283 in his last 104 games.
  • LAA Center Fielder #22
After starting four games in a row following his callup, Bryce Teodosio is out of the Angels lineup for a second straight game Friday.
The Angels are just winging it at this point, but it’s surprising that Teodosio is sitting against a lefty, especially since manager Ron Washington seems to view him as the team’s best defensive outfielder; all four of Teodosio’s starts have come in center. Mickey Moniak and Jordyn Adams both played right field when they were in the same outfield as Teodosio. Moniak is playing center and Adams right tonight.
  • HOU Left Fielder #30
Kyle Tucker is playing right field Friday for the first time since returning from a fractured shin.
Yordan Alvarez, who has spent extra time in the outfield with Tucker limited, is doing the DHing tonight. The start tonight is Tucker’s fifth in the seven games since he was activated last week.
  • HOU Second Baseman #27
Jose Altuve is back at second base on Friday after missing one game with a mild oblique injury.
Mauricio Dubón is starting in left field tonight after filling in for Altuve at second base yesterday.
