The Rockies are placing Kris Bryant on the IL with a back strain and calling up Jordan Beck, according to MLB.com’s Thomas Harding.
We don’t doubt Harding’s report, but while the Rockies have made two pitching moves official, they haven’t posted this transaction yet. Assuming it’s true, Bryant will have played 13 games in between IL stints, matching his season high.

Kyren Paris delivered a go-ahead RBI single in the 11th inning, swiped a base and scored a run on Tuesday, helping to lead the Angels to a 9-7 victory over the Cardinals.
The 23-year-old phenom didn’t even start in this one, but still made a major impact off the Angels’ bench. With two outs in the 11th inning he whacked a 1-2 fastball from Chris Roycroft for an RBI single that gave the Angels a 7-6 lead. He then swiped second base and scored on a two-run double by Yoan Moncada. He has been awfully impressive in his limited action thus far, hitting .444 (4-for-9) with a homer, three RBI and three stolen bases. Those in deep leagues should probably start to take notice if they haven’t already done so.

Nolan Schanuel smacked a two-run triple and scored a run on Tuesday night as the Angels topped the Cardinals in 11 innings in a wild back-and-forth affair.
The Angels scored three runs in the top half of the 10th inning to take a commanding lead, with Schanuel smacking his two-run triple off of Ryan Fernandez and scoring on an RBI single off the bat of Jo Adell. The Cardinals rallied for three runs in the home half though, forcing the Angels to win it in the 11th instead. The 23-year-old first baseman is off to a solid start to the 2025 season, hitting .286 (6-for-21) with zero homers, three RBI and a stolen base.

Ryan Zeferjahn notched the first save of his big league career on Tuesday night, recording the final two outs in the 11th inning against the Cardinals.
Zeferjahn came on with a man on first and one out in the 11th and proceeded to get Lars Nootbaar on a fly ball to left field and Willson Contreras on strikes to end it. His usage in a high-leverage spot came after the Halos had already deployed Ben Joyce, Kenley Jansen and Ryan Johnson though, so don’t anticipate Zeferjahn to suddenly usurp the closer’s role in Los Angeles.

Kyle Hendricks pitched well in his Angels’ debut on Tuesday evening, allowing two runs on seven hits over six innings in a tough-luck no-decision against the Cardinals.
The 35-year-old right-hander struck out four and didn’t walk a batter on the night. He allowed an RBI single to Jordan Walker in the second inning and then a solo blast to Walker in the fourth, but that was the extent of the scoring done against him. He exited with a 3-2 lead and in line for a victory, but the Angels’ bullpen couldn’t hang on for him. Hendricks got 10 whiffs on 97 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of 27 percent. He’ll look for more of the same when he squares off against the Rays in Tampa Bay on Tuesday.

Jordan Walker went 2-for-5, clobbered a solo home run and swiped a base on Tuesday as the Cardinals dropped a heartbreaker in extra innings to the Angels.
The 22-year-old slugger opened the scoring in the ballgame with an RBI single off of Kyle Hendricks in the second inning. He then swiped third base as part of a double steal with Victor Scott II, though the Cardinals couldn’t cash him in from there. He then tagged Hendricks for a 419-foot (107.0 mph EV) solo shot in the fourth. It’s too early to say this is the breakout season that everyone has been waiting for, but Walker is off to an outstanding start, hitting .429 (6-for-14) with a homer, two RBI and a stolen base.
  • STL Relief Pitcher #52
Matthew Liberatore logged a quality start in a no-decision against the Angels on Tuesday night, allowing three runs on six hits across six innings.
The 25-year-old southpaw struck out four on the evening and didn’t walk a batter. The only real trouble that he got into came in the third inning as the Angels strung together four straight two-out hits to push three runs across. He settled in nicely afterwards though and allowed just one baserunner over his final three frames. Liberatore got four swings and misses on 77 pitches on the night, posting an underwhelming CSW of 23 percent. He’s lined up for a pair of starts next week, taking on the Pirates in Pittsburgh on Monday and then a home tilt against the Phillies on Sunday afternoon.
  • LAA Shortstop #9
Zach Neto (shoulder) went 1-for-6 with an RBI on Tuesday in a minor league rehab game for Triple-A Salt Lake.
Neto hasn’t progressed to the point in his recovery from offseason shoulder surgery where he’s ready to play shortstop in rehab games, but that’ll presumably happen at some point in the near future. He’s expected to play everyday at DH without any limitations for now. He should be ready to make his season debut by the end of April.
  • TEX Starting Pitcher #82
Rangers RHP prospect Emiliano Teodo struck out four over two perfect innings in relief on Tuesday for Triple-A Round Rock.
The Rangers have expressed a desire to continue developing Teodo as a starter, but he looks like a potential lights-out relief arm thanks to his triple-digit fastball velocity and hard-biting slider. The flamethrowing 24-year-old is basically a two-pitch prospect at this point, which is why he probably makes more sense in a high-leverage role. He’s a name to watch in deeper mixed leagues on the chance that Texas decides to give him a shot at closing in the near future.
  • TOR Shortstop #11
Bo Bichette had a go-ahead two-run single in the bottom of the eighth as the Blue Jays bested the Nationals 5-3 on Tuesday.
The Jays wound up with 12 hits tonight, none of them going for extra bases. Still, it was good enough for a win. It’s the first time they’ve had that many singles and nothing else since Aug. 8, 2014. Bichette is off to a 9-for-24 start and has scored four runs in six games as the Jays’ leadoff man.
  • TOR Starting Pitcher #17
José Berríos pitched 5 2/3 innings of two-run ball Tuesday against the Nationals.
Berríos got through five scoreless before giving up three hits and a walk in the sixth tonight. The Jays were up 3-2 when he was pulled, and Yariel Rodríguez stranded both runners he inherited then. However, Rodríguez did combine with Mason Fluharty in coughing up the lead in the seventh. Berríos wound up striking out eight and walking three. It ended poorly, but it was a nice bounce back from his miserable Opening Day start. He’ll get the Red Sox next in Boston.
