Bo Naylor went 2-for-4 with an RBI and also stole a base on Monday in the Guardians’ extra-inning loss at the hands of the Diamondbacks.
Naylor played a pivotal role in Cleveland’s late rally to force extra innings as he delivered a one-out triple off Arizona stopper Ryan Thompson in the ninth inning before coming around to score the tying run later in the frame. He also singled and stole a base earlier in the back-and-forth affair.

Rockies optioned LHP Ryan Rolison to Triple-A Albuquerque.
Rolison has been shipped back to the minors after posting a bloated 7.34 ERA across 30 2/3 innings (22 appearances) this season in his first exposure to the big leagues.
Jones' power production can't be ignored
James Schiano evaluates the potential of New York Yankees top prospect Spencer Jones, explaining why the 24-year-old outfielder's power production can't be ignored as he's compiled 29 home runs in the minors this season.
  • COL Relief Pitcher #36
Rockies placed RHP Zach Agnos on the 15-day injured list with a right flexor strain.
There’s still no word on the severity of the injury. Agnos exited Saturday’s relief outing against the Orioles with an apparent right arm issue and was later diagnosed with a flexor strain. That type of injury can sometimes be a precursor to UCL trouble, so his status will be worth monitoring closely in the coming weeks as the Rockies determine next steps.
  • TEX Catcher #11
Kyle Higashioka (hamstring) remains out of the lineup for Sunday’s game against Atlanta.
Rangers manager Bruce Bochy told reporters Higashioka is available to pinch-hit, but the 35-year-old backstop remains out of the lineup for the fourth consecutive game as he works his way back from a mild hamstring strain that he suffered earlier this week. It’ll be Jonah Heim continuing to handle the catching duties with Cody Freeman serving as the emergency backup.
  • WSH Shortstop #8
Nationals recalled INF José Tena from Triple-A Rochester.
Tena returns to Washington’s bench mix for Sunday’s game against the Twins after veteran Amed Rosario was shipped to the Yankees earlier this weekend. The 24-year-old infielder hit .248 with zero homers and two steals in 44 games with the Nationals earlier this season before they opted to promote top prospect Brady House to take over at the hot corner.
  • WSH Left Fielder #30
Jacob Young (finger) is not in the lineup for Sunday’s game against the Twins.
X-rays came back negative for any fractures after Young suffered a right index finger contusion attempting to bunt during Saturday’s game against the Twins. The 26-year-old outfielder will get a break during Sunday’s series finale, which coincidentally falls on his birthday.
  • WSH Right Fielder #3
Dylan Crews (oblique) will begin a minor league rehab assignment on Tuesday with Triple-A Rochester.
Crews entered the year as the consensus top prospect in baseball, but has been limited to just 45 games, mostly due to an oblique strain that he suffered back in late May. The 23-year-old center fielder will likely need a handful of rehab contests to get back up to speed following a lengthy layoff, but he figures to make it back to Washington at some point in early August. He’s a worthwhile stash candidate for fantasy managers based on his power/speed combo upside.
  • COL Center Fielder #9
Brenton Doyle remains out of the lineup for Sunday’s game against the Orioles.
Doyle will sit out his fourth consecutive game on Sunday afternoon. There’s been zero indication that he’s dealing with any sort of physical issue. It’ll be Mickey Moniak in center field in his ongoing absence.
  • ATH Shortstop #5
Jacob Wilson (hand) remains out of the lineup for Sunday’s showdown against the Astros.
Wilson will get his second straight day off as he continues to battle a hand contusion that he suffered prior to the All-Star break when he was hit by a pitch. The Athletics are clearly hoping that some additional time off for their outstanding rookie shortstop will put the issue to bed. There’s been no indication that he’ll require a trip to the injured list at this juncture.
  • ATH 1st Baseman #16
Nick Kurtz is out of the lineup for Sunday’s series finale against the Astros.
Athletics manager Mark Kotsay told reporters Kurtz is getting a break on Sunday afternoon because he’s been “doing a lot of running lately” and is dealing with some general soreness in his lower half, but is available off the bench, if needed. The 22-year-old rookie sensation has been tearing the cover off the ball since returning from the injured list back on June 9, batting .349 (52-for-149) with 18 home runs, 44 RBI and two steals in 39 games during that span.
  • CWS Center Fielder #88
Luis Robert Jr. (groin) is back in the lineup for Sunday’s series finale against the Cubs.
Robert is back at DH and batting seventh following a two-game absence due to groin tightness. The 27-year-old center fielder figures to be on the move at some point ahead of Thursday’s trade deadline and could certainly benefit from a change of scenery. The encouraging news here is that he’s feeling healthy enough to get back on the field and has been on a bit of a hot streak since returning from the injured list back in late June.
