Adolis García has been dropped to seventh in the Rangers lineup Monday.
García had been batting fifth of late. The Rangers have moved Josh Jung up to fourth and dropped usual cleanup man Wyatt Langford to fifth tonight. Unfortunately, García has been one of the league’s worst hitters for nearly 3 1/2 months now; he’s batting .177/.246/.318 since Apr. 25.

MacKenzie Gore is day-to-day with left lat tightness.
Gore told reporters he feels fine but will undergo imaging to rule out anything structural after making a precautionary exit from Monday’s start against the Rockies with left lat tightness. All signs point to Gore making his next start against the Angels on Sunday.
Trout, Vlad Jr. lead MLB on NBC, Peacock this week
Start your Sunday with the Pirates and Blue Jays on MLB Sunday Leadoff at 12p ET on Peacock. Then, watch as the Rangers and Angels meet for an AL West clash on Sunday Night Baseball at 7 pm ET on Peacock and NBCSN.
  • STL Shortstop #0
Masyn Winn (knee) will undergo an MRI on Tuesday.
Winn will undergo imaging to determine whether he’s dealing with any structural damage since he’s still dealing with some left knee discomfort that popped up over the weekend. There’s obviously some concern that he’ll require a trip to the injured list. There should be an update on his status in the coming days.
  • SEA Shortstop #3
J.P. Crawford (triceps) is out of the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the White Sox.
Crawford was in the lineup for Monday’s series opener against Chicago after suffering a triceps contusion when he was hit by a pitch over the weekend. He’ll get some extra rest in this one with Colt Emerson making his first start at shortstop. The big question is what happens to his playing time once Brendan Donovan (groin) is back from the injured list now that Emerson has ascended to the majors. the 31-year-old impending free agent figures to cede some playing time to the top prospect over the final few months of the year.
  • BOS Center Fielder #3
Ceddanne Rafaela is hitting second on Tuesday against the Royals.
Rafaela gets the nod in a prominent spot in Boston’s lineup after hitting .320 (16-for-50) with three homers and three steals over his last 15 games. The 25-year-old center fielder sat out Monday’s series opener but he’s back in there to face Royals lefty Bailey Falter on Tuesday night.
  • TOR 2nd Baseman #22
Ernie Clement is out of the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Yankees due to illness.
Clement is dealing with strep throat, so it’s probably for the best if he practices some social isolation to prevent it from spreading around Toronto’s clubhouse. The 30-year-old infielder is available off the bench, if needed, with Davis Schneider getting into the lineup at second base in his place.
  • AZ Catcher #66
Diamondbacks selected the contract of C Aramis Garcia from Triple-A Reno.
Garcia returns for another stint with Arizona as emergency catching depth with veteran backstop James McCann hitting the injured list with a quad strain. The 33-year-old journeyman got into three games for the Diamondbacks earlier this season while Gabriel Moreno was on the shelf.
  • AZ Catcher #8
Diamondbacks placed C James McCann on the 10-day injured list with a right quad strain.
It sounds like McCann is going to miss at least a couple weeks after suffering a quad strain during Monday’s series opener against the Giants. It’s less of an issue for Arizona with Gabriel Moreno back from the injured list than it would’ve been earlier this year when he was sidelined.
  • WSH Center Fielder #30
Jacob Young (ribs) is out of the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Mets.
The positive news here is that X-rays came back negative after Young was hit by a pitch in the ribs during Monday’s series opener. The 26-year-old center fielder is presumably day-to-day moving forward. It’ll be former top prospect Dylan Crews patrolling center field in his return to the majors on Tuesday night.
  • CIN 2nd Baseman #9
Matt McLain is hitting leadoff again on Tuesday against the Phillies.
McLain is leading off for the second straight contest after going 1-for-4 with a stolen base during Monday’s series opener. The 26-year-old second baseman has shown some signs of life recently after an ice-cold stretch at the outset of the season. Cincinnati doesn’t have a clearly superior alternative, which means McLain is probably going to get an extended run as the club’s top-of-the-order option, which is a boost for his fantasy appeal.
  • TB 2nd Baseman #15
Ben Williamson (back) remains out of the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Orioles.
Williamson hasn’t played since last Friday due to ongoing back tightness. It’s unclear whether he’ll require a trip to the injured list, but the Rays are going to carry him on the bench for now in the hopes that the issue clears up without an extended layoff. It’ll be Richie Palacios at second base on Tuesday night in his place.
