Logan Webb allowed one run in 5 2/3 innings and got the win in the Giants’ 4-1 victory over the Nationals on Monday.
Webb gave up four hits, walked three and struck out four. The win was his ninth of the year and second in a row. Webb gave up an RBI single to James Wood in the sixth inning and departed with men on the corners and two outs in the inning. Ryan Walker escaped the jam with no further damage charged to Webb. He has a 3.42 ERA on the year. The 27-year-old right-hander is set to face the Tigers on the road this weekend.

Ketel Marte sliced a two-run double during Tuesday’s MLB All-Star Game at Truist Park in Atlanta.
Marte kicked off the scoring by lifting a two-run double down the right-field line against Tigers ace Tarik Skubal in the opening frame. It was his lone hit in two at-bats and represented the lone runs for either side during the Midsummer Classic until Pete Alonso connected for a three-run homer in the sixth inning.
Stowers 'found his groove' before All-Star Break
Eric Samulski reacts to Kyle Stowers' explosive day for the Miami Marlins before the All-Star Break, going a perfect 5-5 at the plate with three home runs and six RBIs to add to his breakout season.
  • NYM Relief Pitcher #39
Edwin Díaz surrendered a game-tying single in the ninth inning of Tuesday’s MLB All-Star Game at Truist Park in Atlanta.
Díaz was called upon to preserve a one-run lead with the potential tying run already on-base in the top of the ninth inning and was unable to slam the door. He got Jazz Chisholm Jr. to ground out, thanks to a phenomenal play by Atlanta first baseman Matt Olson, but surrendered a game-tying infield single to ensuing batter Steven Kwan. Most of the blame for the blown save goes to Padres closer Robert Suarez, who opened the frame with a two-run lead and only recorded one out before being pulled.
  • ARI 3rd Baseman #28
Eugenio Suárez was hit by a pitch on the left hand during Tuesday’s MLB All-Star Game at Truist Park in Atlanta.
Suárez was unable to get out of the way of an offering from White Sox starter Shane Smith in the bottom of the eighth inning. The encouraging development for the Diamondbacks, and fantasy managers, is that he remained in the contest to run the bases. The 33-year-old, who finished the first half with 31 homers, is expected to be one of the biggest names available at the upcoming trade deadline. It’s a situation fantasy managers should keep an eye on in the coming days.
  • MIN Starting Pitcher #41
Joe Ryan hurled a perfect inning during Tuesday’s MLB All-Star Game at Truist Park in Atlanta.
Ryan’s dominant Midsummer Classic outing showed why every contending team in baseball should be attempting to pry him away from Minnesota ahead of the upcoming trade deadline. He struck out a pair of batters and needed just 10 pitches to twirl a flawless frame. It’ll take a massive haul to extract the first-time All-Star from the Twins, but virtually every contender should be picking up the phone, if he’s truly available. He’ll likely kick off the second half with a challenging road tilt against the Rockies at high-octane Coors Field.
  • PIT Starting Pitcher #30
Paul Skenes fired a scoreless inning during Tuesday’s MLB All-Star Game at Truist Park in Atlanta.
Skenes authored a dominant performance in his second consecutive Midsummer Classic start for the National League, striking out Tigers stars Gleyber Torres and Riley Greene on a triple-digit heaters before coaxing a harmless groundout from Aaron Judge to cap a flawless opening frame. The 23-year-old fantasy ace closed out the first half with a major league-leading 2.01 ERA and 131/30 K/BB ratio across 121 innings (20 starts). He’ll kick off the second half with a favorable matchup this weekend against the rebuilding White Sox.
  • DET Starting Pitcher #29
Tarik Skubal allowed two runs in his lone inning of work during Tuesday’s MLB All-Star Game at Truist Park in Atlanta.
Skubal got into trouble right away when Shohei Ohtani dunked a single into shallow center-field and Ronald Acuña Jr. reached on a slow roller to second base before Ketel Marte sliced a two-run double down the right-field line. He managed to wriggle out of the frame without any further damage, picking up a strikeout of Manny Machado on the first successful automatic ball-strike (ABS) challenge in major league history in the process. The 28-year-old fantasy ace finished the first half with a sparkling 2.23 ERA and 153/16 K/BB ratio across 121 innings (19 starts). He’ll kick off the second half this weekend with a road tilt against the Rangers.
  • SD Catcher #12
Padres optioned C Luis Campusano to Triple-A El Paso.
Campusano was summoned for Sunday’s first-half finale with Gavin Sheets away from the club on paternity leave. The 26-year-old backstop has done some serious damage at the Triple-A level this season, but it hasn’t carried over into the big leagues during limited opportunities.
  • TEX Starting Pitcher #22
Jon Gray (wrist) allowed one run over three innings on Monday in a minor league rehab start in the Rookie-level Arizona Complex League.
Gray headed to Arizona after Sunday’s scheduled rehab outing for Triple-A Round Rock was rained out. The 33-year-old righty, who has been out since spring training recovering from a fractured right wrist, has a pair of starts under his belt already and will likely only need one or two additional tune-up outings before he’s ready to rejoin Texas’ pitching mix.
  • NYM Starting Pitcher #70
José Buttó (illness) fired a scoreless inning on Tuesday during a minor league rehab appearance in the Rookie-level Florida Complex League.
Buttó landed on the injured list earlier this month with an undisclosed illness. The 27-year-old righty, who has posted a strong 2.47 ERA across 43 2/3 innings (31 appearances) this season, figures to be ready to rejoin New York’s relief corps shortly after the All-Star break.
  • ATH Relief Pitcher #67
Athletics transferred RHP Grant Holman to the 60-day injured list.
Holman will be on the shelf until at least mid-August as he recovers from right shoulder tendinitis. The 25-year-old righty has posted a lackluster 5.09 ERA across 23 innings (22 appearances, two starts) this season in the big leagues. There’s a chance he doesn’t make it back to the Athletics’ relief mix until the late stages of the second half.
