Kyle Schwarber swatted a leadoff homer on Sunday afternoon, helping to power the Phillies to victory over the Mariners.
Schwarber got ahead of Logan Gilbert 2-0 to start the ballgame and then walloped a 97.8-mph fastball for a 428-foot (114.9-mph EV) solo shot to give the Phillies an early lead that they’d never relinquish. Schwarber also singled and doubled in the ballgame, finishing the afternoon 3-for-5. On the season, the 31-year-old slugger is now hitting .251/.383/.467 with 23 long balls and 64 RBI.
