Spencer Arrighetti allowed one run in six innings and struck out 12 against the Rays on Sunday.
Arrighetti was on the wrong side of a 1-0 decision. The 12 strikeouts were a career-high and the most of any Astros pitcher this season. He gave up five hits, walked two batters and had a 42 percent whiff rate. Arrighetti is now firmly in the streamer conversation in mixed formats. The 24-year-old right-hander is set to face the Red Sox on the road next week.

Noelvi Marte went 1-for-4 with a solo homer in the Reds’ 4-3 win over the Rockies on Saturday.
Marte took Tyler Kinley deep for a solo homer in the seventh inning to cut the Rockies lead to one run for his only hit of the game. The 23-year-old has started eight of the last nine games at third base and is hitting .293/.340/.565 with six homers, 22 RBI, and four steals across 100 plate appearances.
Players to watch in MLB All-Star Futures Game
James Schiano spotlights the rising stars to watch in this weekend's 2025 All-Star Futures Game in Atlanta.
  • COL Shortstop #8
Ryan Ritter went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer against the Reds on Saturday.
Ritter put the Rockies on the board with a two-run homer off Brady Singer in the third inning. It was the first career home run for the 24-year-old shortstop. Ritter has been playing everyday with the Rockies in Ezequiel Tovar’s absence, hitting .228/.287/.337 with 13 runs scored and 11 RBI across 102 plate appearances.
  • COL Relief Pitcher #38
Victor Vodnik allowed two runs to blow the save and take the loss against the Reds on Saturday.
Vodnik took the mound in the bottom of the ninth with a one-run lead over the Reds to close out the game. He gave up a single and a triple to tie the game before a fielding error brought the winning run in to score for the Reds. Vodnik was attempting to work back-to-back saves after recording his second save against Cincinnati on Friday as he’s shared save chances with Seth Halvorsen.
  • CIN Starting Pitcher #51
Brady Singer allowed three runs with nine strikeouts over 6 1/3 innings in a no-decision against the Rockies on Saturday.
Singer tossed two scoreless frames before giving up a two-run homer to Ryan Ritter in the third. Singer then worked around a leadoff triple in the fourth, striking out the next three batters. The Rockies brought a third run in on a walk and a double in the seventh, ending Singer’s day at 93 pitches with nine strikeouts. The 28-year-old right-hander will take a 4.32 ERA, 1.35 WHIP, and a 92/40 K/BB ratio across 100 innings into the second half following the All-Star break.
  • COL Starting Pitcher #64
Bradley Blalock allowed one run with one strikeout over 5 2/3 innings in a no-decision against the Reds on Saturday.
Blalock gave up a run on two base hits and a sacrifice fly in the first inning. He then settled in nicely, keeping the Reds off the board until the sixth. A two-out base hit would end his day at 80 pitches. He struck out just one. The 24-year-old right-hander has posted a 9.97 ERA, 1.80 WHIP, and a 9/6 K/BB ratio across 21 2/3 innings.
  • BOS Starting Pitcher #35
Garrett Crochet’s first career complete game was a three-hit shutout of the Rays in a 1-0 game on Saturday.
Crochet struck out nine and just missed the Maddux, coming in at exactly 100 pitches today. It’s his fourth scoreless start of the year and his sixth straight victory, even though his ERA has increased during the run; he’s 6-0 with a 2.48 ERA in his last eight starts after going 4-4 with a 2.04 ERA in his first 12. It’s too bad he’s opted out of the All-Star Game but probably for the best, given that he’s up to 129 1/3 innings already. He finished at 146 last year.
  • TB Starting Pitcher #11
Shane Baz limited the Red Sox to one run in 6 1/3 innings but still took a loss on Saturday.
The lone run scored on a Carlos Narváez single on a play that Taylor Walls usually makes at shortstop but didn’t this time. Baz allowed five hits, walked two and struck out three. He ends the first half on a streak of four straight quality starts and an 8-5 record with a 4.17 ERA.
  • BOS 3rd Baseman #29
Abraham Toro went 0-for-3 in his fourth straight hitless game Saturday against the Rays.
Toro did make a fantastic play at first base to cut down a run at home on a squeeze bunt attempt in what ended up being a 1-0 win, so give him credit for that. Still, now that he’s back hitting like Abraham Toro hits, he doesn’t need to be playing this regularly, especially given the way Romy González has performed. Toro is batting .205/.287/.241 in his last 25 games, but he’s started and González has sat the last two days.
  • MIA Shortstop #9
Xavier Edwards went 2-for-5 with a home run, double, and two RBI to lead the Marlins to a 6-0 win over the Orioles on Saturday.
Edwards knocked a double and scored a run in the eighth inning, then capped off a four-run ninth inning for the Marlins with a two-run homer off Scott Blewett. The 98 mph fly ball just cleared the wall in right field for Edwards’ first home run of the season and the second of his career. The 25-year-old second baseman is hitting .290/.355/.347 with 39 runs scored, 24 RBI, and 16 steals across 352 plate appearances.
  • MIA Center Fielder #3
Derek Hill went 2-for-4 with two RBI against the Orioles on Saturday.
Hill got the start in center field for the Marlins with a left-hander on the mound on Saturday. He knocked a base hit to drive in the first run of the game in the seventh inning, then drove in one more run with a single in the ninth. The 29-year-old outfielder is hitting .213/.278/.326 with two homers, 13 runs scored, and six steals across 99 plate appearances.
