  • TB 3rd Baseman #2

Yandy Díaz was removed from Sunday’s game against the Astros with a left wrist contusion.
The 32-year-old first baseman was attempting to field a sharp ground ball off the bat of Yordan Alvarez that struck him in the wrist. He tried to shake it off and stay in the game but was ultimately unable to do so. Fortunately, the precautionary X-rays came back negative for any fractures and Díaz is considered day-to-day.
  • KC Starting Pitcher #44

Royals promoted LHP Rich Hill to Triple-A Omaha.
Hill will make his next minor league appearance at the Triple-A level after striking out 13 batters over eight innings in a pair of starts in the Rookie-level Arizona Complex League. The 45-year-old southpaw is attempting to write another chapter in his tumultuous career by making it back to the big leagues for a potential 21st season. There’s zero fantasy relevance at this juncture of his two-decade odyssey in professional baseball, but it’s a remarkable story.
Palencia 'asserts himself' as Cubs closer
Daniel Palencia has four saves in his last four appearances, and James Schiano examines how the 25-year-old flamethrower has officially asserted himself as the Chicago Cubs closer moving forward.
  • ARI Starting Pitcher #57
Eduardo Rodriguez (shoulder) posted nine strikeouts and allowed four runs — three earned — over 4 2/3 innings on Friday in a minor league rehab start for the Rookie-level Arizona Complex League.
No word on the pitch count, which isn’t included in the league’s box scores. However, the important variable here is that Rodriguez got through the rehab outing without any issues and appears poised to rejoin Arizona’s rotation, possibly as early as next week. His return would likely bump Ryne Nelson, who has been pitching outstanding of late, back to the bullpen.
  • TEX Left Fielder #32
Evan Carter (quad) went 0-for-3 on Friday in a minor league rehab game for Triple-A Round Rock.
Carter played six innings in center field to kick off his rehab assignment as he works his way back from a quad strain that he suffered back in mid-May. The 22-year-old is likely to require a handful of additional contests before he’s ready to rejoin Texas’ lineup.
  • TOR Relief Pitcher #63
Braydon Fisher will start on Saturday against the Athletics.
Fisher will make his first career start after reeling off 8 1/3 scoreless frames over seven relief appearances for Toronto since being promoted to the majors back on May 7. He’s not a recommended streaming option for fantasy purposes, but it’s notable that he’s being given a more prominent role after some early-career success.
  • KC 1st Baseman #14
Royals 1B/OF prospect Jac Caglianone went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer on Friday for Triple-A Omaha.
This is getting ridiculous. Caglianone has been hotter than a boiling teakettle since arriving in Triple-A earlier this month and has now homered a staggering six times over his last eight contests. The 22-year-old slugging prospect would represent an immediate upgrade for Kansas City’s lineup at this juncture and it’s getting impossible to overlook his production on the doorstep of the majors. He’s worthy of a speculative stash in all fantasy leagues and figures to make a significant impact in the power department once he arrives in the big leagues. His time is coming.
  • PIT Starting Pitcher #57
Pirates RHP prospect Bubba Chandler recorded eight strikeouts over five shutout innings on Friday for Triple-A Indianapolis.
It’s unclear how close the Pirates are to promoting Chandler for his first taste of the majors, but it seems like a mistake to keep wasting starts like this in the minors when he’s capable of making an impact at the highest level, even for a non-contending team. The hard-throwing top pitching prospect boasts a microscopic 2.03 ERA and 69/21 K/BB ratio across 48 2/3 innings (11 starts) this season at the Triple-A level. He’s one of the few prospects that fantasy managers in re-draft formats should be stashing.
  • TEX Shortstop #89
Rangers SS prospect Sebastian Walcott went 3-for-4 with two homers and four RBI on Friday for Double-A Frisco.
Walcott recorded the first multi-homer performance of his career on Friday and is up to eight round-trippers this season as one of the youngest players in the entire Texas League. The 19-year-old prodigy is arguably the top non-debuted prospect in the dynasty landscape — with the notable exception of Red Sox outfielder Roman Anthony — given his ability to hit for power at such a young age. He’s up to 21 extra-base hits through 45 games this season at the Double-A level. He’ll likely finish the year on the doorstep of the majors as the top prospect in fantasy baseball.
  • DET Shortstop #80
Tigers SS prospect Kevin McGonigle went 4-for-5 with a two-run homer and four RBI on Friday for High-A West Michigan.
McGonigle’s combination of elite plate skills and consistent hard contact make him one of the most intriguing bats in the entire minors. The 20-year-old slugging infielder missed a month at the outset of the year after suffering an ankle injury in his season debut, but he’s been destroying the Midwest League ever since, hitting .478 (11-for-23) with six extra-base hits in seven games since returning from the injured list. He’s one of the top prospects in the dynasty landscape and should be a household name in fantasy leagues by the end of the year.
  • SEA Right Fielder #99
Mariners OF prospect Lazaro Montes went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer on Friday for High-A Everett.
Montes connected for his Northwest League-leading 11th round-tripper of the season on Friday evening with a titanic blast that left his bat at an impressive 114 mph. The 20-year-old corner outfielder will need to tear the cover off the ball as a bat-first prospect to make a significant fantasy impact down the road, but he’s doing everything he can to outperform expectations this season with a robust .966 OPS at the High-A level.
  • CWS Center Fielder #88
Luis Robert Jr. went 0-for-3 with a walk on Friday against the Orioles in his return to the lineup.
Robert struck out three times on Friday in his return to Chicago’s lineup following a two-game absence due to knee soreness. The 27-year-old has been running at a breakneck pace on the bases, but he hasn’t contributed much else from a fantasy perspective. He figures to benefit exponentially from being shipped to a legitimate contender in a few weeks ahead of the trade deadline instead of being trapped in the White Sox’ perpetual rebuilding cycle.
