George Springer is not in the lineup for Sunday’s game against the Yankees.
Springer returned from a shin injury for Saturday’s game against New York, but the 34-year-old will get a day of maintenance against the Yankees for the finale. Addison Barger is starting in right field and hitting seventh in Springer’s absence.

Max Muncy (knee) progressed to taking on-field batting practice on Tuesday.
Muncy continues to make rapid progress in his recovery from a bone bruise in his left knee. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told reporters over the weekend that he could potentially return in a couple weeks. There are several additional hurdles for Muncy to clear before he returns to game action, but he’s on track to make it back to Los Angeles at some point in August.
Dodgers relievers to add following Scott's injury
With the Dodgers "all but a lock" to add a reliever before the trade deadline following Tanner Scott's injury, Eric Samulski assesses which arms could be in line for precious save opportunities.
  • STL Right Fielder #41
Alec Burleson (foot) has been added to the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Rockies.
Burleson managed to pass pregame tests on his injured right foot and has been added to the lineup for Tuesday’s showdown at Coors Field. He’ll be in right field and batting third. It’ll be Brendan Donovan moving back to second base with rookie Thomas Saggese being scratched.
  • MIL Right Fielder #10
Sal Frelick (hamstring) took on-field batting practice on Tuesday.
Frelick is aiming to return to Milwaukee’s lineup on Friday after hitting the injured list during the All-Star break with a hamstring strain. He’ll need to clear some additional hurdles, including running the bases at full strength, before he’s cleared to be activated.
  • ARI Relief Pitcher #18
Shelby Miller (forearm) faced hitters on Tuesday in a live batting practice session.
Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo told reporters Miller got through 16 pitches before his back tightened up on him. The good news is that his arm felt fine. He’ll be re-evaluated in the coming days. The 34-year-old veteran stopper figures to be ready to kick off a rehab assignment at some point in early August.
  • ARI Shortstop #3
Diamondbacks sent SS Sergio Alcántara outright to Triple-A Reno.
Alcántara will remain with Arizona as emergency infield depth after being jettisoned from the club’s 40-man roster earlier this week. The 29-year-old shortstop was with the club for a pair of contests while Ketel Marte was away from the club tending to a personal matter. He got into one game earlier this season for the division-rival Giants.
  • LAD Right Fielder #37
Teoscar Hernández is not in the lineup for Tuesday’s contest against the Twins.
Hernández is batting .143 (4-for-28) with two extra-base hits and four RBI in seven games since returning from a three-game absence back on July 11 due to right foot soreness. The 32-year-old veteran slugger has been ice-cold at the dish since the start of June and it wouldn’t be shocking to see him sitting more often to get rookie Andy Pages in right field more often.
  • TB Starting Pitcher #18
Rays manager Kevin Cash told reporters Tueaday that Shane McClanahan (triceps) will not make his next minor league rehab start due to biceps soreness.
Cash clarified that McClanahan is being pulled back temporarily due to fatigue — not a recurrence of the triceps issue that sidelined him at the end of spring training. The 28-year-old former fantasy ace experienced diminished velocity in his most recent rehab outing last Friday for Triple-A Durham and later voiced frustration with his recovery process on social media, while reiterating his desire to make it back quickly. With the clock ticking, McClanahan needs to start showing tangible progress soon if he hopes to pitch for Tampa Bay this season.
  • MIA 3rd Baseman #63
Marlins recalled INF Jack Winkler from Triple-A Jacksonville.
Winker rejoins Miami’s bench mix prior to Tuesday’s game against the Padres in the wake of outfielder Derek Hill requiring a trip to the injured list with a sprained finger. The 26-year-old infielder went 1-for-11 with a stolen base in nine games earlier this season with the Marlins.
  • MIA Center Fielder #3
Marlins placed OF Derek Hill on the 10-day injured list with a left middle finger sprain.
Hill winds up back on the injured list for the third time this season. At least this time he isn’t dealing with a wrist issue. The 29-year-old outfielder has hit just .211/.276/.322 with two homers and six steals in 33 games.
  • PHI Starting Pitcher
Phillies signed first-round pick RHP Gage Wood.
One of the more intriguing talents from the 2025 MLB Draft, Wood landed with the Phillies as the 26th overall pick following a remarkable collegiate career at Arkansas. MLB Pipeline’s Jim Callis reports he’ll receive a nearly full-slot $3 million signing bonus. The hard-throwing 21-year-old righty will likely get a shot to start initially, but his power arsenal could play up in a high-leverage relief role down the road. He’s a name to watch for dynasty purposes.
