  • NYY Center Fielder #24

Alex Verdugo is not in the starting lineup for Sunday’s game against the Blue Jays.
Verdugo has been a constant in the lineup for the Yankees — even when he hasn’t always performed offensively — and this is his first day out of the lineup since June. The left-hander will get a day of rest with Aaron Judge starting in left field.
  • MIA Shortstop #9

Xavier Edwards was ejected from Monday’s game in the first inning for arguing balls and strikes.
Edwards apparently didn’t like strike two before he grounded out in his first at-bat. Joey Weimer replaced him in the game, with Javier Sanoja moving from left field to second base.
Schwarber enjoying a later career renaissance
James Schiano discusses Kyle Schwarber's 4-home-run game and whether he has done enough to challenge Shohei Ohtani for NL MVP.
  • TOR Starting Pitcher #56
Eric Lauer will pitch in relief for now as the Jays go back to a five-man rotation.
The Jays must not be worried much about Max Scherzer’s back, as he’s scheduled to start Saturday. Lauer has been terrific for the Jays this season, but he did give up eight runs — six earned — in 4 2/3 innings last time out against the Twins. He’s 8-2 with a 3.21 ERA in 15 starts and six relief appearances this season.
  • NYM Center Fielder #15
Tyrone Taylor has been on the shelf with hamstring discomfort, the Mets revealed Monday.
Taylor seemed to be coming for Cedric Mullins’ job last week, but he didn’t play Saturday or Sunday and this was obviously why. He’s apparently doing better now, so there are no plans to put him on the IL. Mullins is starting in center field for a third straight game today.
  • LAA Right Fielder #3
Taylor Ward said he has no concussion symptoms, and he hopes to return later this week after injuring his face in a collision with the wall on Sunday.
Ward required about 20 stitches over his right eye, but he’s otherwise okay. Matthew Lugo is starting in left field in his place today.
  • COL Catcher #3
Rockies recalled C Drew Romo from Triple-A Albuquerque.
Romo hoped to be the Rockies’ starting catcher this year, but he’s only now making his 2025 debut in the majors. He hit .264/.329/.409 with seven homers in 60 games for Albuquerque, and he’s probably now only auditioning to serve as Hunter Goodman’s backup next year.
  • COL Starting Pitcher #50
Rockies recalled LHP Ryan Rolison from Triple-A Albuquerque.
Rolison will return to the bullpen. He has a 7.41 ERA and a 21/18 K/BB in 37 2/3 innings for the Rockies this season.
  • NYM Relief Pitcher #51
Mets recalled RHP Justin Hagenman from Triple-A Syracuse.
Hagenman has a 3.26 ERA in 19 1/3 innings for the Mets this season, though he did give up 12 runs in eight innings over three appearances during his latest Triple-A stint. He’ll be available to go long in relief or start if needed.
  • NYM 2nd Baseman #2
Mets recalled INF Luisangel Acuña from Triple-A Syracuse.
Acuña, the NL Rookie of the Month way back in April, has hit .239/.295/.283 in 175 plate appearances for the Mets this season. He’ll likely serve mostly as a defensive replacement at second, though he could start occasionally against lefties.
  • CWS 3rd Baseman #44
White Sox recalled 3B Bryan Ramos from Triple-A Charlotte.
Ramos, who appeared in 32 games for the White Sox last year, will be making his 2025 debut after hitting .218/.317/.391 with 14 homers in 392 plate appearances for Charlotte. His stock has definitely declined some the last two years, and while he’s still just 23 and young enough to rebound, it’s hard to project him as the White Sox’s third baseman of the future at this point. He’ll probably share time with Curtis Mead for now, and he might be sent back down if Miguel Vargas comes back this month.
  • CWS Relief Pitcher #55
White Sox recalled LHP Fraser Ellard from Triple-A Charlotte.
Aside from one appearance as a 27th man in a doubleheader, Ellard had been stuck in the minors for the last four months. He has a 5.87 ERA in eight appearances for the White Sox this year, which is better than his 6.48 mark in the minors.
