  • CWS Relief Pitcher #36
Steven Wilson surrendered five runs while getting just two outs against the Twins on Friday.
Wilson is a threat for saves in the White Sox pen following the Michael Kopech deal, but this obviously won’t help matters. John Brebbia is probably the favorite for saves at this point, but even so, he seems like a weak choice in shallow leagues.
  • ATL Left Fielder #20
Marcell Ozuna went 0-for-4 against the Dodgers on Monday.
Ozuna is in the middle of a mini-slump. He’s 5-for-29 (.172) with no home runs and no RBI in his last nine games. It’s coming at a bad time for fantasy managers in the middle of pennant races. Ozuna is hitting .302 with 37 home runs and 98 RBI on the year.
  • LAD Left Fielder #37
Teoscar Hernandez went 1-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI against the Braves on Monday.
Hernadez has hits in five straight games since missing a few games with an ankle injury. He’s 6-for-19 (.316) with a home run and three RBI in that time. Hernandez is hitting .267 with an .824 OPS and 90 RBI on the year.
  • LAD First Baseman #5
Freddie Freeman went 1-for-3 with a walk and a three-run home run against the Braves on Monday.
Freeman’s home run was his 22nd of the year. He hit a three-run shot off Aaron Bummer in the seventh inning. Freeman is 10-for-46 (.217) with three home runs and nine RBI in 14 games in September. He’s hitting .280 with an .860 OPS and 87 RBI on the season.
  • ATL Starting Pitcher #54
Max Fried allowed three runs in six innings and took the loss against the Dodgers on Monday.
Fried gave up two hits, walked three and struck out seven. He bounced back nicely in a tough matchup after allowing 11 hits in his last start. He’s won just two of his last 12 starts. Fried is 9-10 with a 3.49 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 151 strikeouts in 159 2/3 innings on the year. The 30-year-old left-hander is set to face the Marlins on the road this weekend.
  • MIN Relief Pitcher #66
The Twins are planning to demote Jorge Alcala to make room on the roster for waiver claim Cole Irvin.
Alcala had one horrible outing last month in which he gave up five runs to the Rangers, but he’s been really good for the most part; he has 16 holds and a 3.46 ERA on the season. He deserves better than this, but such is the curse of having option years.
  • COL Right Fielder #15
Hunter Goodman hit a solo homer in a win over the Diamondbacks on Monday.
Goodman came up huge with a game-tying homer off Kevin Ginkel in the seventh. The 24-year-old has been a solid source of power with 12 homers in 64 games, he just hasn’t helped in any of the other categories with a .190 average, .651 OPS and one (1) stolen base.
  • ARI Center Fielder #4
Ketel Marte clobbered a two-run homer in a loss to the Rockies on Monday.
Marte didn’t welcome Antonio Senzatela back very kindly, as he absolutely blistered a homer that traveled and estimated 460 feet to give the Diamondbacks a 2-0 lead with no outs in the first. That’d be the last run Arizona would score in the game. Marte has now tied his career high homers in homers with 32, and his 87 RBI are just five short of tying his top mark, as well. T
  • COL Shortstop #14
Ezequiel Tovar hit a solo homer to help the Rockies a 3-2 win over the Diamondbacks on Monday.
Tovar got the Rockies on the board with a solo homer off Merrill Kelly in the sixth inning. The 23-year-old has homered three times in what has been a disappointing September, but he does now have a solid 24 homers on the year. This has been an uneven year to say the least for Tovar, but more than enough good to suggest he’s on his way to being a strong fantasy option for the next several years.
  • ARI Starting Pitcher #29
Merrill Kelly allowed only a run over six innings, but he didn’t factor into a decision Monday against the Rockies.
Kelly didn’t look bothered by his hamstring at all, which is good. So is allowing just one run over six innings. What’s not good is having your offense score only two runs for you, and your bullpen blowing the lead you left with an inning later. Still, a very solid start for Kelly where he allows just two hits and strikes out five against two walks. It lowers his ERA to 4.00, and he’ll look to lower it some more against the Brewers over the weekend.
  • COL Starting Pitcher #49
Antonio Senzatela allowed two runs in three innings in a no-decision versus the Diamondbacks on Monday.
This was Senzatela’s first time on the mound for the Rockies since May 10 of last year, and it didn’t start very well. He gave up a single to Corbin Carroll and a 460-foot bomb to Ketel Marte, but the 29-year-old was able to settle down and get through the rest of the start scoreless. Senzatela was once an intriguing streamer when he wasn’t pitching in Coors Field, but fantasy managers obviously shouldn’t trust him in any outings in 2024.
