The Orioles just acquired Pache and Seranthony Dominguez in a trade for Austin Hays less than a week ago. However, they also traded for Austin Slater on Tuesday, which made Pache expendable. The 25-year-old will now get a chance to be claimed by other teams after hitting .202 with a .557 OPS and nine RBI for the Phillies this year.

After getting off to the start of his life this season (5-0, 2.25 ERA in 11 starts), Williams wound up missing 3 1/2 months with a flexor tendon strain. He’ll rejoin the Nationals having allowed two runs over 7 1/3 innings in two Double-A rehab starts. We wouldn’t trust him in mixed leagues versus a Cubs offense that’s been one of the best in baseball since the beginning of August.

Retroactive or not, he won’t be eligible to pitch again this season. Nicolas had a 3.95 ERA and a 55/31 K/BB in 54 2/3 innings out of the Pirates pen.
