Mason Miller will go on the injured list with a fractured finger on his non-pitching hand after punching a table following Monday’s game.
At least he didn’t use his pitching hand. Quite a number of self-inflicted injuries this year, though. Miller pitched a perfect inning in a 4-0 win Monday, so who knows what he was angry about. Lucas Erceg will likely close for the A’s for the next few weeks, but he and fellow option Austin Adams are both candidates to be traded. Of course, so was Miller, and while this would seem to make a deal less likely, it doesn’t necessarily rule it out; teams aren’t going to be scared off by a broken finger on his left hand.
