  • MIN 3rd Baseman #23

Royce Lewis, coming back from an adductor strain, doubled and walked as Triple-A St. Paul’s DH on Wednesday.
He played third base and went 0-for-3 on Tuesday. There’s been no confirmation yet, but the Twins could get both Lewis and Jose Miranda back from the injured list on Friday. Edouard Julien, Jair Camargo, Austin Martin are candidates to be demoted to make room.
  • BAL Starting Pitcher #30

Orioles manager Tony Mansolino told reporters that Grayson Rodriguez (lat) is “progressing as expected.”
Inside the fantasy impact of Chapman's injury
Eric Samulski unpacks the significance of San Francisco Giants third-baseman Matt Chapman's hand injury that will cause him to miss more than the 10-day IL minimum.
  • DET 1st Baseman #33
Colt Keith is hitting seventh and playing third base against the Orioles on Wednesday.
Keith played third base at Arizona State and in the minors, but this will be the first time he starts at the position in the majors. The 23-year-old has been just so-so with the bat in 2025 with a .712 OPS, but he’s picked it up as of late, and the fact that he will likely have another position of eligibility — assuming this doesn’t go terribly — adds to the potential fantasy intrigue.
  • PHI 3rd Baseman #28
Alec Bohm went 2-for-4 with a homer and four RBI in the Phillies’ 7-2 defeat of the Cubs on Wednesday.
Bohm finished the series 7-for-13 with six RBI, and his current .717 OPS is his highest mark since the third game of the season. He should go back to putting up strong RBI numbers as long as the Phillies keep batting him third or fourth.
  • PHI Starting Pitcher #44
Jesús Luzardo bounced back in a big way Wednesday, striking out 10 while pitching six innings of one-run ball in a victory over the Cubs.
The run never should have happened. Carson Kelly would have fouled out to right, but Nick Castellanos botched the routine play, overrunning the ball. Since Castellanos didn’t touch it, no error was called, and Kelly went on to double and later come around to score. Luzardo gave up 20 runs in his previous two starts, taking his ERA from 2.15 to 4.46, but he didn’t seem to be having any stuff issues in the process. He got 16 missed swings today and threw 70 of his 99 pitches for strikes while going without a walk. He’ll face his former team next week in Miami.
  • CHC Starting Pitcher #32
Ben Brown was tagged for six runs in 4 2/3 innings by the Phillies in Wednesday’s defeat.
All or nothing for Brown. In his last 11 appearances, he’s allowed zero or one runs four times and six of more runs for times. Although his ERA sits at 5.71, Brown deserves to keep starting for now. Still, even if he becomes more consistent, he’s likely going to wind up in the pen at some point during the second half. After all, he’s never thrown more than 104 innings in a season, and he finished at just 55 last year. He’s at 68 1/3 innings right now. He’ll likely face the Brewers on Tuesday.
  • CHC 2nd Baseman #2
Nico Hoerner went 2-for-4 with an RBI double against the Phillies on Wednesday.
Hoerner entered the day with fewer hard-hit balls (60) than games played (63), but he made hard contact three times against three different pitchers in this one. He has four hits the last two days after going 3-for-26 in his previous seven contests.
  • KC Starting Pitcher #62
Royals recalled RHP Jonathan Bowlan from Triple-A Omaha.
Bowlan makes the trip from Omaha to Kansas City more than any person on the planet. The right-hander is up to replace Cole Ragans (rotator cuff) on the active roster as a middle-inning option.
  • KC Relief Pitcher #43
Royals designated RHP Trevor Richards for assignment.
Richards is removed from the roster to make room for a fresh arm in Jonathan Bowlan. The 32-year-old threw two scoreless innings during Tuesday’s blowout loss, but now will hit the waiver wire.
  • KC Relief Pitcher #60
Royals activated RHP Lucas Erceg off the 15-day injured list.
Erceg missed just a minimum stint on the injured list while recovering from back inflammation. He should return to a high-leverage arm in the Kansas City bullpen.
  • KC Starting Pitcher #55
Royals placed LHP Cole Ragans on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to June 8, with a left rotator cuff strain.
Oh dear. Ragans was highly ineffective in his start last week against the Cardinals, and it appears that he wasn’t at 100 percent while pitching in that outing. He’s out for at least two weeks, but there’s a great chance that this will be a longer stint on the shelf for the 27-year-old. Kansas City should offer a more concrete timeline soon.
