Robert Jr. brought the second run of the game in to score for the White Sox with a solo homer off Nathan Eovaldi in the third inning. It would be the last run Chicago would score in the loss. The 26-year-old outfielder is hitting .227/.299/.476 with 12 homers, 24 RBI, and 12 steals across 204 plate appearances.

Kelly underwent precautionary imaging after being scratched from a scheduled live batting practice session over the weekend due to mid-back tightness. There should be a definitive update regarding the 37-year-old veteran’s status at some point in the coming days. At this point, he remains on track to take the ball on Opening Day.

A rare 413-foot blast for the former top prospect. Pache is in Mets camp as a non-roster player after failing to appear in the majors in a 2025 season spent in the Diamondbacks organization. He’s probably not a threat to make the team, but he could be called up as a backup center fielder if Luis Robert Jr. lands on the IL at some point.

Holmes allowed just one hit, but it was a two-run homer from Kazuma Okamoto. The homer came on the new curveball he’s been working on this spring. Everything else was working nicely today. His velocity faded in the third, but before that, he was a tad above last year’s norms.

Berríos’s velocity was down about one mph from 2025, but he said after the game that he feels 100 percent after last year’s arm woes and he’s actually still hoping to be cleared to pitch for Puerto Rico in the WBC. Berríos’s rotation status with the Jays was in doubt for much of the winter, but he should have a spot initially with Shane Bieber set to go on the IL.

Okamoto’s homer off the batting eye in center left his bat at 103.4 mph and was projected at 431 feet. He struck out in his other at-bat, leaving him 1-for-4 in two appearances this spring. He hit fifth today after batting sixth in his first game Saturday.

He is 3-for-4 in his two games this spring. Rodriguez has had huge problems staying in the field, but he shines when healthy, having hit .254/.424/.488 with 50 homers and 59 steals in 295 games over five minor league seasons. It’ll be fascinating to see if he either or Walker Jenkins can break into the Minnesota outfield sometime this summer.

Abel allowed 14 runs — 13 earned — in 14 innings after joining the Twins in the Jhoan Duran trade last summer, so he has some work to do this spring. The team, though, couldn’t have asked for a better spring debut. Abel walked none and had a 39% CSW. He’s probably competing with Taj Bradley, Zebby Matthews, David Festa, Connor Prielipp and Travis Adams for two spots in Minnesota’s rotation.

Skubal generated eight whiffs on 19 swings in his 31-pitch outing today. He’ll pitch once more for Detroit this weekend before his abbreviated WBC stint with Team USA next week.

Anderson, who spent the last four years in Asia, seemed like a strong candidate to be the Tigers’ fifth starter when he was signed for $7 million in December. Now, though, he’s due to open up in middle relief unless a starter goes down, and even then, the Tigers could pick Troy Melton over him as a rotation replacement. Anderson resembled a legitimate rotation candidate today while topping out at 96.7 mph with his fastball. His 95.3 mph average was up 2.8 mph from when he was last seen in the U.S. with the Rangers in 2021.

All three runs scored in the ninth, with the Rays winning on a Jonny DeLuca two-run single. Rasmussen’s velocity was down 1-2 mph today, but that’s OK for his first time out. He’s already been named the Rays’ Opening Day starter.
