Nathan Eovaldi allowed two runs while striking out 10 batters over seven innings in a win over the White Sox on Wednesday.
Eovaldi tossed a clean first inning, then gave up a run on two base hits in the second. Luis Robert Jr. took him deep for a solo homer in the third. Eovaldi settled in nicely over four more scoreless frames, striking out 10 batters on the day with no walks. The 34-year-old right-hander will take an excellent 3.31 ERA, 1.04 WHIP, and a 104/26 K/BB ratio across 106 innings into a start against the Cardinals in St. Louis on Monday.

Tyler Glasnow (shoulder) is aiming to throw a bullpen session later this week.
Glasnow downplayed concerns raised by Dodgers manager Dave Roberts earlier this week after the 31-year-old ace experienced general body soreness following a bullpen session. He added that his shoulder is feeling better and he’s aiming to throw a bullpen session on Friday or Saturday. The positive news is that he’s feeling well enough to continue his throwing program. Unfortunately, he’s unlikely to make it back to the Dodgers’ rotation until some time in July.
Blue Jays getting boost with Gimenez returning
With Andres Gimenez rejoining the Blue Jays lineup, Eric Samulski still sees value with the second baseman, particularly in stolen bases, and breaks down how his return affects the current lineup.
  • LAD Right Fielder #50
Mookie Betts (toe) is back in the lineup for Tuesday’s showdown against the Mets.
Betts returns at shortstop and batting second on Tuesday night at Dodger Stadium following a four-game absence due to a fractured toe that he suffered last week in an off-field accident. It doesn’t sound like the issue will impact his on-field performance or availability moving forward, but it’s a situation fantasy managers should continue monitoring closely. He’s in the midst of another strong campaign, slashing .254/.338/.405 with 42 runs scored, eight homers, 31RBI and five steals through 53 games.
  • ATH Shortstop #5
Jacob Wilson (neck) is absent from the lineup for Tuesday’s showdown against the Twins.
The Athletics clearly aren’t going to take any chances after Wilson made a precautionary exit from the late stages of Monday’s series opener with a potential neck issue. It doesn’t sound like a serious concern, but it wouldn’t be a total surprise to see the 23-year-old rookie sensation miss a couple games this week out of an abundance of caution. He’s been a revelation this season, hitting .355 with seven homers and five steals through 58 games to emerge as the front-runner for AL Rookie of the Year honors. It’ll be Max Schuemann filling in at shortstop on Tuesday night in his absence.
  • NYM Shortstop #10
Mets recalled INF Ronny Mauricio from Triple-A Syracuse.
Mauricio returns to the majors for the first time since the suffering a torn ACL in his right knee prior to the 2024 campaign. The 24-year-old top prospect showed some flashes of big-time potential during his big-league debut back in 2023 and possesses an intriguing blend of fantasy-relevant skills. He could make an impact for fantasy managers in deeper formats but is unlikely to play enough to make a serious dent in shallow mixed leagues. He’s been tearing the cover off the ball recently for Triple-A Syracuse, hitting .515 (17-for-33) with three homers and four steals in nine games.
  • NYM Relief Pitcher #82
Mets recalled LHP Brandon Waddell from Triple-A Syracuse.
Waddell provides New York’s bullpen with a fresh arm heading into Tuesday’s showdown in Los Angeles against the defending World Series champions. The 31-year-old southpaw has recorded a strong 3.86 ERA across 9 1/3 innings (two appearances) this season in the big leagues.
  • NYM 3rd Baseman #27
Mets placed 3B Mark Vientos on the 10-day injured list with a right hamstring strain.
No word yet on the severity, which will determine how much time Vientos misses. The 25-year-old third baseman heads to the injured list after suffering the ailment during Monday’s series opener against the Dodgers. He’s struggled this season at the dish to a lackluster .230/.298/.380 triple-slash line with just six homers and 21 RBI through 53 games. His absence opens the door for a surging Brett Baty to play every day at the hot corner.
  • NYM Relief Pitcher #32
Mets optioned RHP Max Kranick to Triple-A Syracuse.
Kranick is one of the few Mets relievers with minor league options, so he draws the short straw in a roster crunch. The 27-year-old righty has compiled a strong 3.51 ERA and 23/3 K/BB ratio across 33 1/3 innings (22 appearances) this season for New York. He’ll be back soon.
  • PHI Starting Pitcher #27
Aaron Nola (ankle) will face hitters this week in a live batting practice session.
It’s a significant step in the right direction as Nola works his way back from a sprained right ankle that he suffered back in mid-May. There isn’t an official timetable from the Phillies yet, but it seems like there’s a chance he’s ready to make a minor league rehab start by the middle of June.
  • TOR Right Fielder #25
Anthony Santander (shoulder) received a PRP injection earlier this week.
Santander will be shut down from baseball activities for at least the next week after receiving the injection to address inflammation in his left shoulder. The 30-year-old big-ticket free agent acquisition for Toronto hit the shelf last week and is likely to be sidelined until mid-to-late June.
  • FA Relief Pitcher #49
    Marlins released RHP Xzavion Curry.
Curry made three relief appearances for the Marlins back in early April before being jettisoned from the club’s 40-man roster. The 26-year-old righty will head out to test the free agent waters after posting an inflated 8.04 ERA across 15 2/3 innings (15 appearances) for Triple-A Jacksonville.
