  • PHI Shortstop #7
Trea Turner walloped a solo homer and also stole a base on Wednesday in the Phillies’ loss to the Twins.
Turner singled and swiped second base — his 13th theft of the year — in the opening frame before blasting a solo homer — his 13th round-tripper of the season — off Twins rookie David Festa a couple innings later. The 31-year-old fantasy stalwart has been on an absolute heater over the last few weeks since the start of July, batting .356 (26-for-73) with 10 homers, 22 RBI and three steals in 18 games during that span.
  • LAA Starting Pitcher #31
Tyler Anderson allowed two runs (one earned) in five innings and got a no-decision against the Rangers on Saturday.
Anderson gave up one hit, walked two and struck out seven. Wyatt Langford reached on an error to start the fifth inning before Anderson walked Nathaniel Lowe. Both runners came around to score on Ezequiel Duran’s double, which was the only hit Anderson allowed. The win was his 11th of the year. Anderson has a 3.50 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 132 strikeouts in 167 1/3 innings this year. The 34-year-old left-hander is set to face the Astros at home next week.
  • TEX Starting Pitcher #35
Jack Leiter allowed three runs in five innings and got a no-decision in the Rangers’ 6-4 victory over the Angels on Saturday.
Leiter gave up two hits, walked two and struck out six. This was one of the better outings of Leiter’s brief major league career so far. He has a 10.41 ERA, but should remain in the Rangers’ rotation. Leiter’s fantasy upside just isn’t there at the moment, though he should be held onto in dynasty formats. The 24-year-old right-hander is set to face the Mariners on the road next week.
  • ATL Third Baseman #65
Luke Williams drove in two runs while going 2-for-4 in a loss to the Blue Jays on Saturday.
  • TOR Third Baseman #7
Will Wagner went 3-for-5 with a pair of RBI in a win over Atlanta on Saturday.
  • TOR First Baseman #48
Spencer Horwitz homered twice and drove in three runs while going 4-for-5 in a 9-1 blowout win for the Blue Jays of Atlanta.
Horwitz homered off Spencer Schwellenbach twice, and both were solo shots for the 26-year-old. He also drove in a run with a double in the fifth, and he’s now plated 32 runners to go with 11 homers. Six of those deep balls have come since the start of August, as he’s starting to drive the ball on a more consistent basis. It bodes well for Horwitz in the future, and fantasy managers should look to play the hot hand.
  • TOR Starting Pitcher #17
José Berrios held Atlanta to one run in six innings to get a win for the Blue Jays on Saturday.
Berrios scattered five hits with one free pass issued, and he struck out five. He blanked the Atlanta lineup until the fifth when he gave up an RBI single to Michael Harris II. The right-hander is on a roll right now with six consecutive starts where he’s allowed no more than two runs, and he’s gone at least six innings in all of those outings. Berrios gets a chance to keep that streak going against the Cardinals over the weekend.
  • ATL Starting Pitcher #56
Spencer Schwellenbach allowed six runs — three earned — over five innings in a loss to the Blue Jays on Saturday.
Schwellenbach was hurt by his defense, but also hurt by the long ball as he gave up two homers in the contest. The Blue Jays were aggressive against the 24-year-old as he didn’t walk anyone, threw 56-of-72 pitches for strikes and struck out just three times. It’s a disappointing outing considering how the Blue Jays have pitched and his solid outing against the Phillies on Sunday, but it coulda been worse. He’d be more risk than reward as a streamer next weekend against the Dodgers.
  • MIN Right Fielder #38
Matt Wallner went 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI against the Royals on Saturday.
Wallner hit an RBI double off Alec Marsh in the third inning. He’s a strong-side platoon bat. Call him a one trick pony if you must, but hitting right-handed pitching is a valuable trick. Wallner is hitting .263 with a .933 OPS and 30 RBI this year.
  • KC Shortstop #7
Bobby Witt Jr. went 1-for-4 with an RBI against the Twins on Saturday.
It was a quiet night for the Royals offense. Bailey Ober kept them off the scoreboard for the first seven innings, but the Twins bullpen had trouble in the eighth inning. With the score tied at 2-2, Witt Jr. came up to the plate and drove in the go-ahead run with a single. He’s hitting .336 with a .994 OPS and 98 RBI on the season.
  • WAS First Baseman #19
Andres Chaparro drove in three runs including a two-run homer in a comeback win over the Pirates on Saturday in the second game of a doubleheader.
Chaparro tied the game at 4-4 in the seventh with a two-run blast off of Ryan Borucki. The infielder drove in a run earlier in the contest with a single off Mitch Keller, and he’s driven in 13 runs in just 22 games with the Nationals. Chaparro was not considered a top prospect coming into the year, but he’s played well enough that he could be considered for a spot on the Nationals to open the 2025 campaign.
