Jose Quintana surrendered one run over five innings on Tuesday in a no-decision against the Yankees.
Quintana was uncharacteristically wild in this one, piling up six strikeouts while also handing out a staggering five free passes, his highest single-start total since issuing a career-high six walks back on June 22, 2016. Fortunately, the walks didn’t come back to haunt him as a second-inning solo shot by Gleyber Torres represented the lone tally against him. The 35-year-old veteran southpaw will bring an underwhelming 4.02 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 85/39 K/BB ratio across 107 1/3 innings (20 starts) into a home outing on Sunday against the division-rival Braves.
