Ranger Suarez allowed three runs in 5 1/3 innings and took the loss against the Twins on Monday.
Suarez gave up seven hits, walked one and struck out four. He allowed an RBI single to Willi Castro in the third inning and a two-run single to Manuel Margot in the fifth inning. Suarez had a 1.83 ERA in his first 16 starts, but has a 7.71 ERA in his last four starts. He’s seen his ERA increase to 2.87 on the year. The 28-year-old left-hander is set to face the Guardians at home this weekend.

Adolis García remains out of the lineup for the fourth straight game on Tuesday against the Rays.
García remains stapled to Texas’ bench for the fourth consecutive contest since last Friday as the club attempts to get him back on track with an extended reset. It’ll be rookie on-base machine Alejandro Osuna taking over in right field on Tuesday evening with Evan Carter in center field in his return from the injured list.
Yankees' Weaver expected to miss 4-6 weeks
Eric Samulski reacts to Yankees reliver Luke Weaver being sidelined with a hamstring injury, explaining what the news means for Devin Williams and the rest of New York's bullpen.
  • KC 1st Baseman #14
Jac Caglianone is at DH and batting sixth on Tuesday in his major-league debut against the Cardinals.
Here we go. It’s happening. Caglianone will bat in the middle of Kansas City’s order behind Vinnie Pasquantino and Salvador Perez in his highly-anticipated big league debut. The 22-year-old slugging prospect reached the majors less than one calendar year after being selected sixth overall in the 2024 MLB Draft. He projects as an instant impact fantasy contributor in the home run department, but there might be some initial turbulence as he acclimates to facing major league-caliber pitchers. He should be rostered in all fantasy formats on the basis of his astronomical over-the-fence pop and could be a huge difference-maker in the second half of the season.
  • KC 3rd Baseman #11
Maikel Garcia (thumb) is back in the lineup for Tuesday’s series opener against the Cardinals.
Garcia is back at the hot corner and batting third on Tuesday night after being scratched from Sunday’s lineup with right thumb soreness. It doesn’t appear to be a serious concern moving forward since he wound up only missing one contest.
  • TEX Left Fielder #32
Rangers activated OF Evan Carter from the 10-day injured list.
Carter returns to the Rangers’ outfield mix after missing just over two weeks recovering from a mid-May quad strain. The 22-year-old has struggled at the plate this season, hitting .182 (6-for-33) with one homer and three steals through 11 games. The talent is there, but he’s struggled to stay healthy the past few years.
  • TOR 2nd Baseman #0
Blue Jays activated 2B Andrés Giménez from the 10-day injured list.
Ernie Clement did a fantastic job filling in for Giménez at second base, but he’ll return to third base now. As productive as he’s been lately, he’ll probably be the everyday guy there, leaving Addison Barger to shuffle between the outfield and DH. Jonathan Clase, who has been getting starts in left, figures to lose playing time.
  • TOR Catcher #55
Blue Jays activated C Tyler Heineman from the seven-day injured list.
Heineman is back after nine days on the concussion IL and will resume his role as Alejandro Kirk’s backup. He was hitting a stunning .396/.412/.542 in 51 plate appearances before getting hurt.
  • TOR 2nd Baseman #16
Blue Jays designated INF Michael Stefanic for assignment.
Stefaic was 4-for-22 while serving as the Jays’ 26th man during Andrés Giménez’s IL stint. The former Angel will probably clear waivers and could head back to Triple-A Buffalo.
  • TOR Catcher #20
Blue Jays designated C Ali Sánchez for assignment.
Sánchez appeared in five games while Tyler Heineman was out and went 2-for-11. He’s out of options, so he’ll have to go on waivers, and he’ll have the chance to become a free agent if he clears.
  • FA Catcher #18
Rangers C Tucker Barnhart has elected free agency.
Barnhart will head to the open market rather than accept an outright assignment to Triple-A Round Rock. The 34-year-old journeyman should be able to latch on somewhere as emergency catching depth. He went 3-for-13 at the dish in eight games for the Rangers.
  • PHI 1st Baseman #3
Bryce Harper (elbow) is back in the lineup for Tuesday’s series opener against the Blue Jays.
Harper is back at first base and batting third on Tuesday night in Toronto following a five-game absence after being drilled last week by a fastball from Atlanta ace Spencer Strider in his surgically-repaired right elbow. The 32-year-old fantasy superstar has eight homers, 33 RBI and eight steals this season through 54 games as one of the top performers at the cold corner. It’s a relief for fantasy managers that he’s managed to avoid serious injury and is feeling well enough to get back in the lineup without a trip to the injured list.
