Kyle Hendricks allowed three runs in five innings and took the loss against the Diamondbacks on Saturday.
Hendricks gave up three hits, walked three and struck out two. He was done in by the home run in this one. In the fifth inning, he allowed a solo shot to Alek Thomas before Corbin Carroll took him deep for a two-run dinger. Hendricks isn’t a strikeout pitcher and has won just two of his 13 starts this year. He’s difficult to roster outside of deeper formats. The 34-year-old right-hander is set to face the Royals on the road next weekend.

Angels recalled LHP Jake Eder from Triple-A Salt Lake.
The 26-year-old southpaw will provide a fresh arm to an Angels’ bullpen that has been heavily taxed recently. Eder has pitched well in five appearances with the Halos this season, posting a 3.38 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and a 4/4 K/BB ratio across 5 1/3 innings of work.
Players to watch in MLB All-Star Futures Game
James Schiano spotlights the rising stars to watch in this weekend's 2025 All-Star Futures Game in Atlanta.
  • LAA Starting Pitcher #41
Angels optioned RHP Jack Kochanowicz to Triple-A Salt Lake.
The 24-year-old right-hander was shelled for eight runs over 2 2/3 innings in a loss to the Rangers on Thursday. While it looks punitive, that he was optioned out based on that poor start, this could be a procedural thing where the Angels simply want to add another arm to their bullpen over the final three days before the All-Star break. Carson Fulmer did pitch well in relief on Thursday though and could be a capable replacement if the Angels choose to go that route coming out of the break.
  • TEX Starting Pitcher #33
Rangers optioned RHP Dane Dunning to Triple-A Round Rock.
Dunning pitched on two of the last three days for the Rangers and was unlikely to be available on Friday, so he was swapped out for a fresh arm in Caleb Boushley. He could get another opportunity with the big league club in relatively short order. In five appearances with the Rangers this season, Dunning holds a 3.38 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and a 10/5 K/BB ratio over 10 2/3 innings.
  • TEX Relief Pitcher #70
Rangers recalled RHP Caleb Boushley Triple-A Round Rock.
The 31-year-old hurler has already appeared in 15 games out of the Rangers’ bullpen this season, registering a 5.04 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and a 29/5 K/BB ratio over 30 1/3 innings of work. He’ll add a fresh arm to the club’s bullpen for Friday night’s showdown against the Astros.
  • PIT 3rd Baseman #19
Pirates optioned INF Jared Triolo to Triple-A Indianapolis.
The Pirates wanted to add a fresh arm to their bullpen in favor of a bench bat on Friday which means that Triolo finds himself as the odd man out. The 27-year-old infielder has slashed a miserable .158/.553/.266 with three homers, 10 RBI, five stolen bases and a 29/17 K/BB ratio over 160 plate appearances with the Pirates this season.
  • PIT Center Fielder #62
Pirates designated OF Matt Gorski for assignment.
The Pirates needed to clear a spot on their 40-man roster for the arrival of Yohan Ramírez on Friday. Gorski hit just .195/.214/.390 with two homers and four RBI in 42 plate appearances with the Pirates this season. There’s a decent chance that he’ll pass through waivers unclaimed and continue to function as extra depth for the Bucs.
  • PIT Relief Pitcher #49
Pirates selected the contract of RHP Yohan Ramírez from Triple-A Indianapolis.
The 30-year-old right-hander has done a nice job at the Triple-A level this season, registering a 3.19 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and a 41/12 K/BB ratio across 31 innings in his 27 appearances. He’ll Pirates’ manager Don Kelly another option to deploy in the middle innings.
  • MIL Starting Pitcher #36
Brewers recalled RHP Tobias Myers from Triple-A Nashville.
With Aaron Ashby heading to the paternity list, Myers will provide the Brewers with a fresh arm that’s capable of working multiple innings out of the bullpen. The 26-year-old right-hander holds a 4.95 ERA, 1.80 WHIP and a 15/10 K/BB ratio over 20 innings in six appearances (five starts) for the Brewers this season.
  • MIL Starting Pitcher #26
Brewers placed LHP Aaron Ashby on the paternity list.
The 27-year-old southpaw will be away from the team — likely through the All-Star break — as he welcomes a new addition into his family. Tobias Myers was recalled from Triple-A Nashville to take his place in the Brewers’ bullpen.
  • NYM Relief Pitcher #50
Mets designated RHP Rico Garcia for assignment.
The 31-year-old right-hander was promoted from Triple-A Syracuse last Thursday and pitched very well in two scoreless appearances with the Mets — registering a 0.21 WHIP and a 3/0 K/BB ratio over 4 2/3 innings. The Mets needed a fresh arm for their bullpen on Friday though which cost him his spot on the roster. He could attract some interest on waivers.
