Yankees sent RHP Cody Morris outright to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
The 27-year-old had been designated for assignment prior to the All-Star break, but he passed through waivers unclaimed and will continue to function as extra bullpen depth for the Yankees at the Triple-A level. He has registered a 4.25 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and a 42/26 K/BB ratio over 36 innings at the Triple-A level this season.
  • PIT Center Fielder #15

Oneil Cruz is absent from the lineup for Saturday’s showdown against the Phillies.
Cruz, who is hitting .140 (8-for-57) this season against left-handed pitching, retreats to the bench on Saturday afternoon with crafty veteran Ranger Suárez on the mound for Philadelphia. It’ll be Alexander Canario patrolling center field in his absence.
Fantasy impact of Mets SS Lindor breaking his toe
James Schiano shares the latest news regarding star shortstop Francisco Lindor, who is day-to-day after breaking his toe, also explaining how the injury will affect Luisangel Acuña, Ronny Mauricio and fantasy managers.
  • SF Center Fielder #51
Jung Hoo Lee is not in the lineup for Saturday’s game against Atlanta.
Lee heads to the bench with Daniel Johnson, who is 2-for-8 with a stolen base in three games since being called up earlier this week, taking over in center field on Saturday afternoon at Oracle Park. The 26-year-old center fielder has been swinging the bat well of late, hitting .283 (15-for-53) with three steals over his last 15 games. It appears to be a routine off day for Lee, who has played almost every game this season for San Francisco.
  • TEX Shortstop #5
Corey Seager is not in the lineup for Saturday’s contest against the Nationals.
Seager takes a seat with southpaw Mitchell Parker toeing the rubber for Washington on Saturday afternoon. The 31-year-old fantasy superstar is scuffling at the dish of late, going hitless in five consecutive contests, and is just 2-for-30 since returning from the injured list back on May 28. It’ll be Ezequiel Duran at shortstop while Seager gets a day off to clear his head.
  • LAD Starting Pitcher #26
Dodgers placed RHP Tony Gonsolin on the 15-day injured list with right elbow discomfort.
The injuries to Los Angeles’ starting rotation feel like they’re hitting a bit of a tipping point with Gonsolin becoming the latest to hit the shelf. No word yet on how much time he figures to miss, but fantasy managers should anticipate at least a couple weeks, even in a best-case scenario. The 31-year-old righty has compiled a pedestrian 5.00 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 38/18 K/BB ratio across 36 innings (seven starts). It’s unclear how the Dodgers will fill his rotation spot, which comes up next on Tuesday against the Padres.
  • MIA Relief Pitcher #55
Marlins recalled RHP Connor Gillispie from Triple-A Jacksonville.
Gillispie returns to the majors to operate in long relief after spending a couple weeks back at Triple-A Jacksonville. The 27-year-old righty posted an inflated 8.65 ERA, 1.65 WHIP and 23/11 K/BB ratio across 26 innings (six starts) to open the year.
  • MIA Relief Pitcher #62
Marlins optioned RHP George Soriano to Triple-A Jacksonville.
Soriano heads back to the minors after struggling to a bloated 7.97 ERA across 20 1/3 innings (12 appearances) this season in low-leverage spots.
  • KC Relief Pitcher #19
Royals selected the contract of RHP Trevor Richards from Triple-A Omaha.
Richards gets the call to join Kansas City’s bullpen mix ahead of Saturday’s game against the division-rival White Sox roughly one month after signing a minor league contract with the club. The 32-year-old righty posted a lackluster 4.55 ERA across 65 1/3 innings (55 appearances) last year between the Blue Jays and Twins.
  • KC Relief Pitcher #62
Royals optioned RHP Jonathan Bowlan to Triple-A Omaha.
Bowlan heads back to the minors after compiling a pedestrian 4.09 ERA across 11 innings (nine appearances) this season in the big leagues.
  • LAD Relief Pitcher #38
Dodgers activated RHP Kirby Yates from the 15-day injured list.
Yates rejoins the Dodgers’ high-leverage mix after missing three weeks recovering from a hamstring strain. The 38-year-old former closer could wind up getting some save chances with lefty Tanner Scott continuing to struggle in the role.
  • LAD Relief Pitcher #45
Dodgers activated RHP Michael Kopech from the 60-day injured list.
Kopech returns to Los Angeles’ overworked relief corps after missing 10 weeks at the outset of the season recovering from a shoulder impingement. The hard-throwing 29-year-old righty was a certifiable weapon last year after coming over from the White Sox at the trade deadline, compiling a stellar 1.13 ERA and six saves across 24 innings of work. He could factor in the club’s closing mix at some point in the coming weeks, but will likely handle lower-leverage work right out of the gate.
