Marlins placed OF Dane Myers on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to July 15, with a left ankle fracture.
Myers is expected to miss 6-8 weeks after suffering a fractured left ankle last Saturday when he kicked the clubhouse door. It’ll go down as one of the more bizarre injuries of the entire season and it’s a significant loss for Miami as he likely would’ve been in line for expanded playing time following the trade deadline. He won’t be back until at least late August or early September, barring any setbacks.

Jack Kochanowicz was scratched from Thursday’s start due to illness.
Kochanowicz will have his Cactus League outing pushed back with Caden Dana getting the start in Kochanowicz’s place.
  • BAL Relief Pitcher #74
Felix Bautista (elbow) is throwing a live bullpen session Thursday.
Bautista’s BP session will be his second of the spring. Orioles manager Brandon Hyde told reporters that ideally, Bautista will get seven appearances before the start of the regular season; with some of those likely coming in the backfields. The 29-year-old has a chance to be one of the best fantasy closing options in 2025, but there is some risk that comes with the potential reward.
  • BAL Shortstop #11
Jordan Westburg has been out of action because of soreness in his lower back.
This explains why Westburg hasn’t been in the lineup since Saturday. Orioles managers Brandon Hyde told reporters that Westburg won’t swing the bat for the next couple of days. It’s worth monitoring, but Westburg should be back in plenty of time for the regular season.
  • DET Shortstop #28
Javier Baez (hip) is scheduled to make his spring training debut Friday.
Báez underwent hip surgery in August; causing him to miss the end of the 2025 season. The 32-year-old has been atrocious since signing with the Tigers, but since he’s owed $73 million over the next three years, he’s going to get a chance to win a job to begin the 2025 campaign.
  • DET Left Fielder #8
Matt Vierling is currently being evaluated for a right shoulder injury.
Vierling hasn’t been able to play because of the shoulder injury since Saturday. The 28-year-old is expected to have an everyday role for the Tigers in 2025 with the ability to play multiple positions, but his status to begin the year will obviously be partially determined by the results of the imaging.
  • BAL Shortstop #11
Jordan Westburg is not in the lineup for Thursday’s game against the Blue Jays.
Westburg has not played since Saturday, and no reason has been given for the absences. It’s something to keep an eye on, and hopefully there’ll be some answers as to why Westburg has been held out of action in the coming days.
  • NYM Starting Pitcher #54
Tim Healey of Newsday reports that the Mets have signed RHP José Ureña to a minor league contract and invited him to spring training.
Ureña will join a Mets’ team that is already down Frankie Montas and Sean Manaea due to injury this spring, so a good showing in the Grapefruit League for the right-hander gives him a chance to make appearances for New York this spring. He’s coming off a 2024 season where he made 33 appearances for the Rangers — nine of those starts — with a 3.80 ERA and 70/39 K/BB over 109 innings.
  • TOR Third Baseman #47
Addison Barger (hand) is in the lineup for Thursday’s game against the Orioles.
Barger has been out of action because of a contusion on his right hand near his index finger, but the 25-year-old is feeling well enough to go with plenty of time to get enough reps in to be ready for the regular season.
  • SD Relief Pitcher #33
Padres re-signed RHP Reiss Knehr to a minor league contract.
Knehr continues to work his way back from a right elbow injury that caused him to miss all of last season. The 28-year-old right-hander made 21 appearances (seven starts) for San Diego from 2021-2023, posting a lackluster 5.96 ERA, 1.51 WHIP and 34/29 K/BB ratio across 48 1/3 innings of work.
  • MIN Relief Pitcher #52
Twins signed LHP Brady Feigl to a minor league contract.
Feigl will head to Triple-A St. Paul as extra organizational relief depth. The 34-year-old southpaw made one relief appearance last year for the Pirates and posted a respectable 4.05 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 68/15 K/BB ratio across 60 innings (39 appearances) at Triple-A Indianapolis.
