  • TB Relief Pitcher #61
Rays selected the contract of RHP Tyler Zuber from Triple-A Durham.
Zuber has been officially added to Tampa Bay’s 40-man roster, but will remain stationed at Triple-A Durham for now as emergency relief depth. The 29-year-old side-winder inked a minor league deal with the Rays back in mid-May following a stint with the Long Island Ducks of the independent Atlantic League. He hasn’t appeared in the big leagues since making 54 relief appearances for the Royals from 2020-2021.
  • SD Starting Pitcher #54
Martin Perez tossed 6 1/3 scoreless innings and got a no-decision against the Tigers on Thursday.
Perez gave up five hits, walked one and struck out five. It was a great start for Perez, who was in line for the win before Robert Suarez blew the save in the ninth inning. Perez is 4-5 with a 4.46 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 96 strikeouts in 121 innings this year. The 33-year-old left-hander is set to face the Mariners on the road next week.
  • DET Starting Pitcher #12
Casey Mize allowed three runs in 5 1/3 innings and got a no-decision in the Tigers’ 4-3 victory over the Padres on Thursday.
Mize gave up six hits, walked one and struck out two. In 18 starts this year, Mize has six quality starts and has struck out more than six batters only once. He’s far from an exciting fantasy option. Mize is 2-6 with a 4.30 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 64 strikeouts in 90 innings this year. The 27-year-old right-hander is set to face the Rockies at home next week.
  • TEX Relief Pitcher #39
Kirby Yates tossed a scoreless inning and got the save against the Angels on Thursday.
Yates’ save was his 27th of the season. He struck out three in a perfect ninth inning. Yates didn’t start the season with the closer’s job, but has been one of the better pickups of the fantasy season. He lowered his ERA to 1.34 on the year with the scoreless outing.
  • LAA Shortstop #9
Zach Neto went 3-for-4 against the Rangers on Thursday.
It was a much needed effort for Neto. He was hitting .182 with three home runs and six RBI in his previous 21 games. Neto’s hitting .257 with 20 home runs, 27 stolen bases, a .773 OPS and 67 RBI on the year.
  • TEX Third Baseman #6
Josh Jung went 3-for-4 against the Angels on Thursday.
Jung has at least two hits in five of his last seven games. He’s 33-for-125 (.264) with four home runs and eight RBI in 32 games since returning from a fractured wrist. It’s more or less a lost season for Jung, but he’s once again showing that he can swing it and a strong finish will only build confidence in the 26-year-old third baseman.
  • TEX Right Fielder #53
Adolis Garcia went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run against the Angels on Thursday.
Garcia’s home run was his 22nd of the year. He hit a three-run shot off Jack Kochanowicz in the first inning. It’s been a rough year for Garcia. He’s hitting .222 with 72 RBI and 11 stolen bases. This is what the floor looks like for the 31-year-old outfielder, who will likely be a steal in drafts next year provided he bounces back.
  • LAA Starting Pitcher #64
Jack Kochanowicz allowed three runs in six innings and took the loss against the Rangers on Thursday.
Kochanowicz gave up eight hits, walked one and struck out none. He’s had five straight quality starts, but his lack of strikeouts should give fantasy managers pause. Kochanowicz has struck out 12 batters in 38 2/3 innings. You can make the argument that he’s pitched better than his 4.89 ERA, but it’s tough to recommend him as a fantasy option given his lack of strikeouts. The 23-year-old right-hander is set to face the Twins on the road next week.
  • TEX Starting Pitcher #61
Cody Bradford allowed one run in six innings and got the win in the Rangers’ 3-1 victory over the Angels on Thursday.
Bradford gave up two hits, walked two and struck out four. The win was his fifth of the year. Bradford has completed at least five innings and allowed no more than three runs in six straight starts. He has a 2.43 ERA and 32 strikeouts in 37 innings in that time. Bradford should be rostered in all formats at this point. The 26-year-old left-hander is set to face the Diamondbacks on the road next week.
  • COL Relief Pitcher #40
Tyler Kinley tossed a scoreless ninth inning and picked up the save against the Braves on Thursday.
Kinley’s save was his ninth of the year. He struck out two batters in a perfect ninth inning. He has a 6.18 ERA on the season and isn’t a recommended fantasy option, but if you’re desperate for saves he’s the Rockies’ closer.
  • ATL Left Fielder #20
Marcell Ozuna went 2-for-4 against the Rockies on Thursday.
Ozuna hasn’t hit a home run since August 20th. He’s 17-for-59 (.288) with no home runs and four RBI in his last 15 games. Ozuna already has 37 home runs so he’s still well within reach of getting to 40 home runs by the end of the season. The 33-year-old outfielder is hitting .307 with a .949 OPS and 98 RBI on the year.
