Mets RHP prospect Brandon Sproat fired a perfect third inning during Saturday’s All-Star Futures Game.
Sproat threw the two hardest pitches of the prospect showcase at Globe Life Field, touching 99.2 mph with a pair of heaters in a scoreless third inning. The 23-year-old righty has rocketed up dynasty rankings list recently with a stellar 1.71 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 85/28 K/BB ratio across 73 2/3 innings (14 appearances, 13 starts) this season between High-A Brooklyn and Double-A Binghamton. He’s still a hyperspace jump away from the majors, but he could potentially finish the year as a top-10 overall pitching prospect.

Dodgers acquired RHP Will Klein from the Mariners for LHP Joe Jacques.
Klein becomes the latest contestant thrown into the Dodgers seemingly endless carousel of middle relievers. The 25-year-old was jettisoned by Seattle over the weekend without ever making an appearance for the club. He posted a calamitous 11.05 ERA across 7 1/3 innings (eight appearances) last year between the Royals and Athletics.
Abel, Young among top Week 11 waiver-wire targets
Eric Samulski examines the top fantasy baseball waiver-wire targets for Week 11, highlighting Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Mick Abel and Seattle Mariners infielder Cole Young.
  • SEA Relief Pitcher #55
Mariners acquired LHP Joe Jacques from the Dodgers for RHP Will Klein.
Jacques heads to Seattle as extra left-handed relief depth at Triple-A Tacoma. The 30-year-old southpaw holds a pedestrian 5.46 ERA, 1.65 WHIP and 22/11 K/BB ratio across 29 2/3 innings (25 appearances) in the majors since 2023.
  • LAD Relief Pitcher #68
Dodgers recalled RHP Ryan Loutos from Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Loutos provides Los Angeles with a fresh bullpen arm heading into Monday’s series opener against the Mets. The 26-year-old righty has made exactly one relief appearance this season in the big leagues. He was acquired from the Cardinals in a small trade back on May 1.
  • LAD Relief Pitcher #56
Dodgers optioned RHP Noah Davis to Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Davis returns to the minors after throwing 31 pitches over two scoreless innings over the weekend. The 28-year-old righty figures to be up-and-down with Los Angeles as a middle relief option for the remainder of the year.
  • LAD Relief Pitcher #41
Dodgers designated RHP Chris Stratton for assignment.
Stratton’s time with the Dodgers appears to be over after allowing two runs over three innings across a pair of relief appearances. The 34-year-old journeyman signed with Los Angeles back in late May shortly after being released by the Royals.
  • ATH Center Fielder #33
Athletics recalled OF JJ Bleday from Triple-A Las Vegas.
The move is now official. Bleday returns to the majors ahead of Monday’s series opener against the Twins after hitting .370 (10-for-27) with one homer in six games at the Triple-A level following a late-May demotion. The results have been there and the Athletics have seen enough progress to bring him back to the big leagues. He’s unlikely to make a significant impact for fantasy purposes outside of extremely deep mixed leagues and AL-only formats.
  • ATH Relief Pitcher #61
Athletics recalled RHP Elvis Alvarado from Triple-A Las Vegas.
Alvarado has been summoned to fortify the Athletics’ relief depth with rookie starter Gunnar Hoglund hitting the injured list with a hip impingement. The 26-year-old righty has made two appearances this season in the big leagues, allowing three runs over 2 2/3 innings. He’ll operate in middle relief for the Athletics.
  • ATH Starting Pitcher #53
Athletics placed RHP Gunnar Hoglund on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to June 1, with a left hip impingement.
Hoglund heads to the injured list after coughing up four homers and getting torched for eight runs over six innings on Saturday against Toronto. The 25-year-old rookie has compiled a bloated 6.40 ERA over 32 1/3 innings (six starts) this season at the big-league level. It’ll likely be Osvaldo Bido taking his spot in the Athletics’ rotation.
  • ATH Left Fielder #22
Athletics placed 3B Miguel Andujar on the 10-day injured list with a right oblique strain.
Andujar is likely facing a multi-week absence after suffering an oblique strain during Sunday’s series finale against the Blue Jays.
  • LAD Right Fielder #50
Mookie Betts (toe) remains out of the lineup for Monday’s showdown against the Mets.
Betts progressed to running the bases and went through defensive drills prior to Monday’s series opener at Dodger Stadium with the aim of being ready for Tuesday’s contest. The 32-year-old fantasy superstar will sit out his fourth consecutive game after suffering a fractured toe last week in an off-field incident. It’ll be rookie Hyeseong Kim filling in at shortstop again on Monday night in his absence.
