  • LAA Left Fielder #5
Willie Calhoun homered twice including a two-run homer in the 10th inning to give the Angels a 6-5 win over the Mariners on Friday.
Calhoun tied the game at 2-2 in the first inning with a long blast off Bryan Woo. He came up in the 10th with the Angels trailing 5-4, and he obliterated an Austin Voth offering to give Los Angeles the win and Calhoun his fourth homer of the year.
  • MIA Starting Pitcher #83
Valente Bellozo allowed three runs (one earned) in 5 1/3 innings and took the loss against the Pirates on Monday.
Bellozo gave up six hits, walked one and struck out two. He hasn’t won any of his last five starts and has a a 4.97 ERA with 12 strikeouts in 25 1/3 innings in that time. Bellozo is off the fantasy radar mostly because of his lack of strikeouts. He has a 3.57 ERA and 1.28 WHIP with 35 strikeouts in 53 innings over 10 starts this year. The 24-year-old rookie right-hander is set to face the Nationals on the road this weekend.
  • PIT Starting Pitcher #30
Paul Skenes allowed one run in six innings and got the win in the Pirates’ 3-2 victory over the Marlins on Monday.
Skenes gave up six hits, walked one and struck out nine. The win is his 10th of the season and fourth in his last five starts. Skenes has allowed two runs or less in each of his last five starts. He has a 2.10 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 151 strikeouts in 120 innings this year. The only thing that can stop Skenes this year is a potential innings limit in the final weeks of the season. The 22-year-old right-hander is set to face the Royals at home this weekend.
  • TOR First Baseman #27
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was able to remain in Monday’s game against the Mets after fouling a pitch off his left foot.
Guerrero was DHing tonight, so we didn’t know if he’d remain in the game after hobbling into the dugout and down to the clubhouse in the sixth. As it turned out, he was able to continue.
  • CIN Relief Pitcher #43
Alexis Diaz tossed a scoreless ninth inning and picked up the save against the Braves on Monday.
Diaz’ save was his 27th of the season. He tossed a perfect ninth inning to nail down a 1-0 victory for Cincinnati. While the 27 saves he has are certainly valuable, his 4.30 ERA this year leaves much to be desired.
  • CIN First Baseman #2
Ty France went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI against the Braves on Monday.
France’s RBI double in the second inning off Charlie Morton was the only run scored in the entire game. Maybe he just needed a change of scenery. France is 37-for-118 (.313) with four home runs and 13 RBI in 35 games since coming to the Reds. He’s viable in mixed leagues once again. France is hitting .249 with a .714 OPS and 44 RBI on the year.
  • ATL Starting Pitcher #50
Charlie Morton allowed one run in 6 2/3 innings and took the loss against the Reds on Monday.
Morton gave up six hits, walked two and struck out seven. Morton pitched well enough to win, but the Braves failed to support him with any runs on Monday. He’s allowed three runs or less in each of his last six starts, but only has two wins in that time. Morton is 8-8 with a 4.11 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 155 strikeouts in 149 this year. The 40-year-old right-hander is set to face the Dodgers at home this weekend.
  • CIN Relief Pitcher #28
Nick Martinez tossed seven scoreless innings and got the win in the Reds’ 1-0 victory over the Braves on Monday.
Martinez gave up two hits, walked one and struck out five. The win was his eighth of the season. Martinez has three wins, a 3.12 ERA and 35 strikeouts in 43 1/3 innings over his last eight starts since moving back into the Reds’ rotation. He’s not a big time strikeout pitcher, but he’s viable in mixed leagues as long as he’s pitching like this. The 34-year-old right-hander is set to face the Twins on the road this weekend.
  • LAD Starting Pitcher #22
Clayton Kershaw threw off a simulated mound with no shoe on his left foot to try to keep pressure off his injured toe on Monday.
Kershaw is trying to keep his arm in shape for when his foot allows him to resume pitching. He last started on Aug. 30, giving up three runs in an inning before his toe forced him to the IL.
  • TOR First Baseman #27
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. favored his left foot going back into the dugout after a sixth-inning groundout on Monday.
Guerrero fouled a pitch off the foot earlier in the at-bat before gingerly going down the first base line on his grounder. He is DHing tonight, so we won’t know for a little bit whether or not he’s out of the game.
  • LAA Third Baseman #6
Anthony Rendon expects to play Tuesday after being held out of Monday’s lineup due to back soreness.
Rendon’s day off Sunday was just supposed to be a day off, but it was likely related to this. Michael Stefanic got a second straight start with Rendon out tonight.
