  • MIN Shortstop #72

Brooks Lee walloped a solo homer to power the Twins to a 3-2 victory over the White Sox in the second game of Wednesday’s doubleheader.
Lee’s sixth-inning homer off White Sox rookie Drew Thorpe, which barely cleared the right-field wall, was his second round-tripper in eight games since being called up last week from Triple-A St. Paul. It was his lone hit in five at-bats, but it wound up putting Minnesota on the board and jump-starting an eventual comeback victory. The 23-year-old top prospect is batting .364 (12-for-33) with two homers and nine RBI through eight games so far. He should be rostered in all fantasy formats at this juncture.
  • BAL Left Fielder #17

Colton Cowser was held out of the lineup for Friday’s series opener against the Angels with general soreness.
Cowser was held out of Baltimore’s lineup on Friday evening following a collision with the center-field wall during Thursday’s game against the Tigers. The fact that he isn’t dealing with anything specific, based on comments from Orioles interim manager Tony Mansolino, is an encouraging sign. He should be available off the bench this weekend and seems likely to avoid a trip to the injured list.
Casparius may get good ratios as Dodgers starter
Eric Samulski analyzes the Dodgers moving Ben Casparius into the starting rotations and what he will bring to fantasy managers in his new role.
  • COL Relief Pitcher
Rockies signed LHP Zack Morris to a minor league contract.
The 24-year-old southpaw had been pitching for the Mississippi Mud Monsters in the independent Frontier League where he registered a 3.86 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and a 29/3 K/BB ratio across 16 1/3 innings in his nine appearances. He’ll add bullpen depth in the minor leagues for the Rockies.
  • ATH Shortstop #5
Jacob Wilson went 2-for-5 with a pair of runs scored on Friday against the Royals in his return to the lineup.
Looks like the hamstring is just fine following a brief two-game absence. Wilson has not only emerged as a potential All-Star Game selection, but he’s the current front-runner for the American League’s Rookie of the Year Award. The 23-year-old shortstop’s latest multi-hit effort pushes his batting average to a sublime .367 mark through 65 games. The lack of elite over-the-fence power and stolen base upside limits his realistic fantasy ceiling, but he’s going to be an impactful batting average stabilizer for years to come.
  • HOU 2nd Baseman #0
According to Chandler Rome of The Athletic, the Astros plan to promote Luis Guillorme from Triple-A Sugar Land on Saturday.
They’ll first need to clear a spot on their active roster, which could mean either Isaac Paredes or Jacob Melton are heading to the injured list. Guillorme, 30, has hit .248/.377/.317 with two homers, 22 RBI, three swipes and a 46/41 K/BB ratio over 244 plate appearances at Triple-A Sugar Land this season. He can be ignored for fantasy purposes.
  • MIA Catcher #50
Agustín Ramírez finished 3-for-5 with two solo homers as the Marlins outlasted the Nationals 11-9 on Friday.
With just a .690 OPS over his past 30 games, Ramírez has struggled a bit after a blazing hot start to his major league career, but perhaps tonight’s game could help him get off the schneid. He went down and got a low fastball from Mitchell Parker in the first inning that he crushed deep over the fence in left center field. Then, in the third, he attacked a splitter that sat in the heart of the zone and obliterated it 447 feet to that same spot in left-center. His tools are undeniable and give him the chance to be a top-10 catcher for the rest of the season.
  • MIA Relief Pitcher #53
Calvin Faucher turned in a scoreless ninth in a two-run game and notched his sixth save Friday against the Nationals.
Faucher gave up a single with one out in the ninth, but he was able to retire Robert Hassell III and CJ Abrams afterwards to leave James Wood on deck at game’s end. He appears to have emerged as the clear favorite for saves in Miami, having earned four in his last seven appearances.
  • WSH Starting Pitcher #70
Mitchell Parker allowed eight hits and six runs with three walks and three strikeouts over just 3 1/3 innings Friday versus the Marlins.
Parker never had a moment of peace in this game. Agustín Ramírez greeted him with a 408-foot home run in the second at-bat of the game, and Parker wound up allowing more base runners than outs he recorded. While his command has been good over his last few starts, it was awful here. The bulk of both his fastballs and curveballs sat in the heart of the plate and it felt like the Marlins jumped on each one. He’ll have a golden opportunity to right the ship in his next scheduled start at home against the Rockies.
  • WSH Left Fielder #29
James Wood went 3-for-5 with a homer, a double and four RBI against the Marlins on Friday.
The 11-9 loss for the Nationals tonight had five balls hit at least 108 mph. Wood was responsible for three, while Agustín Ramírez had the other two. Wood’s homer was crushed 451 feet to dead center. He also had a flyout to left that would have been a homer in 10 ballparks. It truly would be nice if he pulled the ball more frequently, but with a .287/.377/.548 line and 17 homers, he’s been one of the NL’s best players anyway.
  • BAL Starting Pitcher #50
Charlie Morton recorded 10 strikeouts over five innings as the Orioles shut out the Angels 2-0 on Friday.
Morton has excelled in three out of four turns since rejoining the Orioles rotation, and while that doesn’t make him a great play in mixed leagues, it’s certainly a fun story. With tonight’s performance, he joined Steve Carlton, Roger Clemens, Rich Hill, Randy Johnson, Johnny Niggeling, Gaylord Perry, Nolan Ryan and Dazzy Vance as the only pitchers to have multiple 10-strikeout games after turning 41. Morton is slated to face the Rays next time out.
  • BAL Relief Pitcher #74
Félix Bautista fanned two in a perfect ninth for his 13th save Friday against the Angels.
Bautista has stepped it up nicely in the strikeout department, fanning 13 of the 29 batters he’s faced in his last seven outings. His ERA is back down to 3.18 after five straight scoreless appearances.
