  • CWS Left Fielder #74
Eloy Jimenez went 2-for-4 with a walk, a run scored and an RBI against the Twins on Monday.
Jimenez had an RBI single in the sixth inning to give the White Sox a 3-2 lead and then came around to score to make it 5-2. He hasn’t hit 20 home runs in a season since his rookie year in 2019. Jimenez is hitting .236 with a .653 OPS and 14 RBI this year for Chicago.
  • MIN Shortstop #50
Willi Castro left Monday’s game because of an illness and was replaced by Michael Helman.
Castro started in center field tonight. He didn’t have an at-bat before leaving at the beginning of the third injury.
  • LAD Relief Pitcher #48
Brusdar Graterol will likely come off the injured list on Wednesday, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said.
Graterol has missed a month with a hamstring strain. He’s allowed one run in two innings during a rehab assignment at Triple-A Oklahoma City.
  • LAD Left Fielder #37
Teoscar Hernández said his foot is sore, but he worked out Monday and hopes to play Tuesday.
Hernández is missing a third straight start Monday after taking a pitch off his ankle on Friday night.
  • FA Starting Pitcher #44
Red Sox released LHP Rich Hill.
There’s been nothing from Hill since the move to DFA him about whether he’ll try to find another team right away. He made just four appearances for Boston and allowed two runs in 3 2/3 innings.
  • NYY Relief Pitcher #53
Yankees sent RHP Phil Bickford outright to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
Bickford can opt for free agency if he’d like. He was DFA’d on Saturday after giving up eight earned runs in 8 1/3 innings for the Yankees.
  • NYY Right Fielder #27
Giancarlo Stanton is out of the Yankees lineup Monday with Jasson Domínguez up.
Aaron Boone was very short on specifics on how exactly he intends to integrate Domínguez, although expectations are that Alex Verdugo will typically draw the short straw. Tonight, thought, Stanton is getting a rest, with Aaron Judge DHing and Verdugo in left field. Stanton is currently in a 1-for-19 slump.
  • CWS Third Baseman #10
White Sox GM Chris Getz said the plan is for Yoán Moncada to continue playing for Triple-A Charlotte for now.
Moncada, out since April with an adductor strain, has appeared in eight games for Charlotte, five of them at third base, and gone 9-for-26 with a homer and three doubles. Still, there doesn’t really seem to be much desire on either side to have him back in the White Sox lineup in advance of the inevitable divorce this offseason.
  • LAD Left Fielder #37
Teoscar Hernández is out of the lineup again Monday due to his left ankle contusion.
There was hope yesterday that he’d be back tonight, but it wasn’t to be. Chris Taylor is playing left field against the Cubs.
  • MIN First Baseman #30
Carlos Santana is back at first base on Monday after missing Sunday’s game with an illness.
Santana is leading off tonight against the Angels. It’s the third time in the last five games that he’s done so against a left-hander. Before that, he hadn’t led off in a game since 2018.
  • NYM Starting Pitcher #58
Paul Blackburn said he’s been experiencing back pain since his rehab outing in Triple-A and that his back locked up on him while running Sunday.
Blackburn apparently intended to pitch through the soreness until that happened. He was expected to return from a right hand contusion to start tonight against the Blue Jays, but he’s going to remain on the IL for now. Tylor Megill is starting in his place.
