Blue Jays manager John Schneider told reporters he isn’t ruling out Bichette returning before the end of the regular season, but it’s difficult to gauge how much impact he’ll make for fantasy managers, even if he manages to make it back. The 26-year-old shortstop went back on the injured list back in late July after re-aggravating a right calf strain.

It’s undoubtedly a positive sign that López has already resumed throwing after landing on the injured list earlier this week with right forearm inflammation. The 30-year-old former reliever has managed to hold up this season with a traditional starters workload and appears on track to return before the end of August.

Díaz is back at first base and leading off during Tuesday’s series opener against the Cardinals after leaving Sunday’s contest against the Astros with a right thumb contusion.

Dezenzo missed time at the outset of the year due to a wrist injury, but has looked outstanding in a small sample over the past few weeks at Triple-A Sugar Land, batting .391 (18-for-46) with four homers and three steals in 11 games. The 24-year-old corner infielder put together a breakthrough campaign last year, registering a robust .914 OPS with 18 homers and 22 steals between High-A Asheville and Double-A Corpus Christi. He’s worthy of a speculative roster spot in deeper mixed leagues on the possibility that he winds up playing regularly and catching fire at the highest level.

Cabbage continues to strike out at a stratospheric rate in the majors, fanning in nearly 36 percent of his 87 plate appearances this season. The 27-year-old offers some over-the-fence pop and stolen base upside, but the abysmal plate skills have prevented him from carving out even a semi-regular role at the highest level.

Coleman made one relief appearance earlier this season and winds up losing his spot on Houston’s 40-man roster to make room for infield prospect Zach Dezenzo.

Warren will take the ball for the second game of Wednesday’s doubleheader against the Angels, weather permitting. The 25-year-old pitching prospect made his big league debut last Tuesday against the Phillies, allowing four runs over 5 2/3 innings before being shipped back to the minors. There’s some streaming appeal here for fantasy managers based on his talent in a favorable matchup, but he’s a risky option outside of deeper mixed leagues.

This might help explain some of the 28-year-old shortstop’s prolonged struggles at the dish of late as he’s batting .225 (23-for-102) with zero homers and only five steals over his last 30 games. There should be an update on his status at some point in the near future. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now.
