  • COL Starting Pitcher
Rockies selected the contract of RHP Tanner Gordon from Triple-A Albuquerque.
Gordon is up to make his MLB debut against the Brewers on Sunday. The 26-year-old right-hander posted a 4.91 ERA and 36/10 K/BB over his 40 1/3 innings in Triple-A. It would be a mistake to trust the 26-year-old as a streaming option for Sunday’s tilt.
  • TEX Relief Pitcher #73
Rangers re-signed RHP Matt Festa to a minor league contract.
Festa is back in the fold with the Rangers as emergency relief depth at Triple-A Round Rock just a handful of days after being released from his previous minor league contract with the club. The 31-year-old righty made one relief appearance earlier this season for the Mets.
  • MIN Third Baseman #12
Kyle Farmer (shoulder) will begin a minor league rehab assignment on Tuesday with Triple-A St. Paul.
Farmer has been out since mid-July recovering from a right shoulder strain. The 33-year-old has been a non-factor this season for fantasy purposes as a bench option for Minnesota.
  • MIL Relief Pitcher #52
Bryan Hudson (oblique) will begin a minor league rehab assignment on Wednesday with Triple-A Nashville.
Brewers manager Pat Murphy told reporters he’s hoping to get Hudson back as quickly as possible, so this might not be a lengthy rehab assignment. The 27-year-old southpaw, who has been phenomenal this season in his Milwaukee debut, hit the injured list last week with a left oblique strain.
  • MIN Center Fielder #25
Byron Buxton (back) remains out of the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the White Sox.
Buxton will miss his second straight contest due to lower back tightness following a precautionary exit over the weekend after a collision with the center-field wall on Sunday. It’ll be rookie Austin Martin filling in once again during his ongoing absence. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for the moment. Given the uncertain nature of back ailments, we’re not ruling out the possibility that Buxton could require a trip to the injured list.
  • MIA Relief Pitcher #56
Marlins recalled RHP Darren McCaughan from Triple-A Jacksonville.
McCaughan was claimed off waivers from the Guardians back in early July and will bolster Miami’s worn-down bullpen ahead of Tuesday’s showdown against the Reds. The 28-year-old righty has made three relief appearances this season in the big leagues.
  • MIA Relief Pitcher #48
Marlins optioned RHP Shaun Anderson to Triple-A Jacksonville.
Anderson has been shipped out to enable Miami to bring in a fresh bullpen arm after throwing a staggering 62 pitches over 5 1/3 innings on Monday night in mop up duty against the Reds.
  • BAL Third Baseman #16
Coby Mayo is not in the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Blue Jays.
Mayo will take a seat after going 0-for-9 with five strikeouts and a pair of walks over three games to open his big league career. It doesn’t come as a total shock that the 22-year-old top prospect is facing some adversity in his first taste of the majors. Fantasy managers should continue to exercise patience here as his extensive minor league track record suggests he’s going to start to heat up eventually.
  • CHC Left Fielder #27
Seiya Suzuki (neck) is back in the lineup for Tuesday’s showdown against the Twins.
It’s a positive sign for fantasy managers as Suzuki is back in right field and batting third on Tuesday night following a brief one-game absence due to neck stiffness. It doesn’t appear to be a major concern moving forward.
  • BOS Right Fielder #17
Tyler O’Neill (illness) remains out of the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Royals.
O’Neill is presumably available off the bench, but he remains absent from Red Sox manager Alex Cora’s lineup card for the fourth consecutive contest due to an ongoing illness. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now.
  • MIN Shortstop #72
Brooks Lee (shoulder) is back in the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Cubs.
Lee is back in Minnesota’s lineup at second base and batting ninth following a two-game absence due to right shoulder soreness. It doesn’t sound like a serious concern moving forward. The 23-year-old rookie has been excellent so far since arriving in the majors, batting 250 (23-for-92) with two homers, 14 RBI and two steals over 103 plate appearances.
