  • ATL Left Fielder #37
Braves optioned 2B Forrest Wall to Triple-A Gwinnett.
Wall hit .241 with one RBI in 13 games with the Braves. A former first round pick by the Colorado Rockies, Wall has had a tough time sticking in the major leagues. He has appeared in only 28 games at the major league level and turns 29 this November.
  • LAA Relief Pitcher #90
Angels re-signed RHP Adam Cimber to a minor league contract.
The 33-year-old right-hander was released by the Angels in late July after he passed through waivers unclaimed. After exploring the free agent market for a couple of weeks though, Cimber decided that his best opportunity was to remain with the Angels, even on a minor league pact. He’ll report to Triple-A Salt Lake until another opportunity opens in the Halos’ bullpen.
  • COL Relief Pitcher #45
Rockies signed LHP Chasen Shreve to a minor league contract.
The 34-year-old southpaw was released by the Yankees on August 1, but it didn’t take him long to latch on elsewhere. He was outstanding at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre this season — registering a 1.89 ERA, 0.78 WHIP and a 35/12 K/BB ratio over 33 1/3 innings of work. It shouldn’t take him long to work his way into the big-league bullpen with the Rockies.

Miguel Amaya went 2-for-4 and swatted his fourth home run of the season on Sunday night, helping to power the Cubs to a 6-2 victory over the visiting Cardinals.
Amaya led off the fifth inning with a single off of Miles Mikolas, then came around to score the go-ahead run on an RBI knock off the bat of Michael Busch. He then greeted Ryan Fernandez in the sixth inning with a 390-foot (97.7-mph EV) solo shot that extended the Cubs’ lead to 6-2. The 25-year-old backstop is having a rough season overall at the dish, slashing a mere .216/.278/.310 with just four homers and 20 RBI.
  • CHC Left Fielder #40
Mike Tauchman went 2-for-4 with a double and a solo home run on Sunday night as the Cubs triumphed over the Cardinals.
Tauchman smacked a one-out double off of Miles Mikolas in the fourth inning and ultimately scored on a balk. He then belted a leadoff 367-foot solo homer off of left-hander John King to start the sixth inning — increasing the Cubs’ lead to 5-2. With his two-hit attack, Tauchman is now slashing .250/.346/.375 with six homers and 21 RBI on the season.
  • CHC Starting Pitcher #35
Justin Steele was terrific in Sunday night’s victory over the Cardinals, allowing just two runs on three hits over 6 2/3 innings.
The 29-year-old southpaw struck out six batters on the evening while issuing a pair of free passes. All of the damage done against him came on one mighty swing of the bat by Masyn Winn in the fourth inning. Aside from that, he was nearly flawless. Steele generated 12 swings and misses on 99 pitches on the night — seven on his heater and five on his slider — while posting an elite CSW of 36 percent. Now 3-5 on the season, he’ll try to keep the good times rolling as he totes a 3.33 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and a 104/29 K/BB ratio (108 innings) into Saturday’s premium matchup against the White Sox in Chicago.
  • STL Shortstop #0
Masyn Winn blasted a two-run homer on Sunday night, but it wasn’t enough to lead the Cardinals to victory over the Cubs.
The 22-year-old shortstop opened the scoring in the ballgame with a 402-foot (100.5-mph EV) two-run blast off of Justin Steele in the fourth inning. That was the extent of the Cardinals’ offense in the game. Winn finished the night 1-for-4 and is now hitting .279/.325/.414 with nine long balls and 41 RBI on the season.
  • STL Starting Pitcher #39
Miles Mikolas was hit hard in a losing effort against the Cubs on Sunday night, allowing four runs on eight hits across his four-plus frames.
The 35-year-old right-hander also issued a pair of walks in the contest while recording three strikeouts. He kept the Cubs off the scoreboard completely through the first three innings, but the Cubs broke through in the fourth as Dansby Swanson plated a run with a ground ball and Mike Tauchman scored on a balk. Mikolas then returned for the fifth where he allowed three straight singles and a walk — pushing a run across and leaving the bases loaded with nobody out. Fortunately for him, only one additional run scored. He’ll try to get back on track and improve upon his 5.12 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 86/22 K/BB ratio (128 1/3 innings) when he does battle against the Royals in Kansas City on Friday.
  • CWS Starting Pitcher #83
The White Sox plan to promote Ky Bush from Triple-A Charlotte to start against the Athletics on Monday.
It will be the MLB debut for the 24-year-old southpaw who was acquired from the Angels in the Lucas Giolito trade. Bush has really struggled in four outings (two starts) since getting promoted to Triple-A Charlotte on July 1 — posting a 6.16 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and a 16/10 K/BB ratio over 19 innings — making the timing of the promotion a bit interesting. He’ll see if he can stop the White Sox’ 20-game losing streak when he takes the mound on Monday night.
  • LAA Shortstop #9
Zach Neto tripled, walked and stole his 20th base of the season in the Angels’ 3-2 win over the Mets on Sunday.
Neto, who has almost exclusively hit in the bottom half of the Angels lineup this season, was in the second spot for the second straight game today. Hopefully, Ron Washington will keep him there, since he’s definitely one of the Angels’ hitters worthy of the most at-bats. He’s at .303/.411/.500 over the last 30 days and .256/.320/.439 on the season.
  • LAA Starting Pitcher #47
Griffin Canning defeated the Mets by allowing two runs — one earned — in five innings Sunday.
Canning fanned eight batters, topping his season high by two. He also managed to avoid giving up a homer for the first time in 10 starts. The win was his first since June 24, and he moved to 4-10 with a 5.10 ERA overall.
