Aaron Judge led all vote getters in Phase 1 of voting for the All-Star Game and was named to his sixth American League All-Star squad on Wednesday.
It’s the fourth straight year that Judge will represent the American League in the Mid-Summer Classic. Here’s who will join him in the starting lineup for the American League All-Stars (with their number of times making the All-Star team and starting in the game in parentheses): 1B: Vladimir Guerrero (4 - 3x starter), 2B: Jose Altuve (9, 6x starter), SS: Gunnar Henderson (1 - 1x starter), 3B; Jose Ramirez (6 - 3x starter), C: Adley Rutschman (2 - 1x starter), OF: Aaron Judge (6 - 6x starter), Juan Soto (4 - 1x starter), Steven Kwan (1- 1x starter) and DH: Yordan Alvarez (3 - 1x starter).

White Sox activated RHP Davis Martin from the 15-day injured list.
Martin, out since June 12 with a forearm strain, will rejoin the White Sox rotation tonight against the Rays. He allowed three runs over 5 2/3 innings in his two rehab starts.
Report: A's Clarke (abductor) out multiple weeks
Following the report of Oakland Athletics outfielder Denzel Clarke being placed on the IL with an abductor strain, Eric Samulski explains his fantasy value moving forward.
  • CWS Relief Pitcher #66
White Sox optioned RHP Wikelman González to Triple-A Charlotte.
González pitched one scoreless inning in his second stint with the White Sox. He still needs to cut down on the walks before he’ll be taken seriously as a bullpen option; he’s issued 34 in 40 2/3 innings in the minors this season.
  • ATL 3rd Baseman #27
Austin Riley will not come off the injured list for Tuesday’s game against the Giants.
Expectations were that Riley would be back today. No word yet on if he’s had an actual setback with his abdominal strain or just needs one or two more days. Given that the Braves have Thursday off, if they’re not activating him tonight, it seems likely that they’ll hold off until Friday.
  • DET Relief Pitcher
The Tigers have moved reliever RJ Petit up to Triple-A Toledo.
One of the biggest pitchers in baseball, Petit, 25, is listed at 6-foot-8 and 300 pounds. He had a 2.28 ERA and a 46/12 K/BB in 43 1/3 innings for Double-A Erie, and if he keeps it up at the new level, he could be a candidate for the Tigers pen sometime soon.
  • TEX Relief Pitcher #52
Rangers signed RHP Carl Edwards Jr. to a minor league contract.
Edwards, who made a couple of relief appearances for the Angels in April, had recently been working as a starter in Mexico and went 5-2 with a 3.38 ERA and a 60/24 K/BB in 74 2/3 innings over 14 outings. That’s pretty good in a league that has a 5.90 ERA as a whole. One imagines the Rangers will keep starting him in the minors, but if he is called up at some point, it’d more likely be to pitch in relief.
  • TB 2nd Baseman #8
Rays placed 2B Brandon Lowe on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to July 20, with left ankle/foot tendinitis.
The injury was previously referred to as plantar fasciitis. Lowe thought he could play through it, but either that changed or the Rays simply decided to shut him down anyway. José Caballero and Taylor Walls should be in line for extra playing time until Lowe returns.
  • TB Left Fielder #17
Rays acquired OF Stuart Fairchild from the Braves for cash considerations.
Fairchild gets another opportunity right away in spite of his struggles the last couple of years. Even if one wants to throw out his .216/.273/.333 line in 55 plate appearances for the Braves, given how sparingly he was used, he still had just a 77 OPS+ for the Reds last season. His mark of 89 from 2023 isn’t very good, either. The Rays, who had an opening with Brandon Lowe going on the IL, figure to use him in left or right against lefties.
  • TB Relief Pitcher #39
Rays transferred RHP Manuel Rodríguez from the 15-day to the 60-day injured list.
Rodríguez has been out since June 10 with a forearm strain, and after he experienced a setback 10 days ago, his status for the rest of the season is up in the air. With a 2.08 ERA in 30 1/3 innings, he was off to a great start before getting hurt.
  • NYM Relief Pitcher #82
Mets recalled LHP Brandon Waddell and placed him on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to July 19, with a right hip impingement.
Waddell was sent down on Saturday, but since he was hurting when it happened, he’ll resume collecting a major league salary and service time until he’s healthy. The 31-year-old Waddell has a 4.00 ERA over 27 innings for the Mets this season.
  • NYM Right Fielder #6
Mets activated OF Starling Marte from the 10-day injured list.
Marte missed two weeks with a bruised right knee. He’s done solid work in hitting .270/.353/.387 this season, and he should resume starting against lefties, which will probably further cut into Ronny Mauricio’s playing time.
