  • PIT Relief Pitcher #45
Aroldis Chapman allowed a run but still picked up a save Sunday against Atlanta.
Chapman gave up a sacrifice fly to Orlando Arcia, but it still left Atlanta down 4-2. It didn’t change the outcome of the game, but it did hurt his ERA, which climbed to 3.87. It’s the third save of the year for Chapman, and he’ll likely see the bulk of chance with David Bednar on the injured list with a strained oblique.
  • TOR Relief Pitcher #57
Chad Green allowed one hit in the ninth inning while earning a save in a 7-6 win over the Astros on Tuesday.
Green started the inning by allowing a double but then struck out Joey Loperfido and Trey Cabbage before getting Jose Altuve to fly out to end the game. It was just his 3rd save of the season, but the veteran has been tremendous with a 1.37 ERA. With Yimi Garcia nearing his return, Green may not see many more save opportunities, but he’s worth rostering in the meantime.
  • MIN Relief Pitcher #59
Jhoan Duran pitched a perfect ninth inning to earn the save on Tuesday against the Tigers.
Duran now has 13 saves on the season, as he lowered his WHIP in the year to 0.98 thanks to a solid frame against the Tigers, in which he struck out one batter. Duran needed just 13 pitches to get through the inning and has converted four of his last five save opportunities.
  • TOR First Baseman #48
Spencer Horwitz went 1-for-4 with a home run in a win over the Astros on Tuesday.
The rookie hit two balls over 100 mph tonight with a 102.6 mph lineout and then a 101.6 mph home run that went 377 feet for his third home run of the season. It took a bit of time for the Blue Jays to play Horwitz regularly, but he has been starting against all right-handed pitchers of late and is hitting .306/.442/.500 in 22 MLB games. He hits second every time he plays and should continue to post strong batting averages and on-base percentages.
  • PHI Relief Pitcher #23
Jeff Hoffman pitched a scoreless ninth inning to pick up his seventh in Tuesday’s win over the Cubs.
The Phillies entered the ninth inning with a comfortable 6-1 lead but saw that lead slip to 6-4 after reliever José Ruiz failed to record an out while allowing a three-run homer to Seiya Suzuki. Hoffman ended up being tasked with putting out the fire and went on to strike out two of the three batters he faced.
  • TOR Right Fielder #4
George Springer went 1-for-4 with three RBI in a win over the Astros on Tuesday.
It’s been a good stretch for Springer of late, hitting .334 over his last 11 games with four home runs, 13 RBI, and one steal. He’s been making consistent contact all season but failing to lift the ball, which has limited his upside, but perhaps this recent stretch is the beginning of a bit of a resurgence. He remains in the lower third of the lineup, which will impact his run totals and he may struggle to top last year’s batting average and home run totals, but he should be a solid contributor in deeper fantasy formats, provided the Blue Jays don’t trade away a lot of their lineup at the deadline.
  • CHC Center Fielder #24
Cody Bellinger went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI in Tuesday’s loss to the Phillies.
Bellinger doubled in the second inning to score Nico Hoerner and give the Cubs their first run of the game. It would be the only run the Cubs would score through the first eight innings before Seiya Suzuki hit a three-run homer in a ninth-inning rally. Bellinger continues to stay hot since having his nine-game hit streak ended last week, as he’s now hit safely in three-straight games and is slashing a solid .270/.329/.421 on the season.
  • CHC Left Fielder #27
Seiya Suzuki went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in Tuesday’s loss to the Phillies.
After being held to just one run through the first eight innings, the Cubs put three more on the board in the final frame thanks to Suzuki’s three-run bomb that scored Cody Bellinger and Michael Busch. Suzuki now has 11 homers and 34 RBI on the season and has hit safely in five of his last seven games while blasting three homers.
  • HOU Left Fielder #44
Yordan Alvarez went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in a loss to the Blue Jays on Tuesday.
The home run was a 390-foot shot off Jose Berrios for Alvarez’s 18th home run on the season to go along with 46 RBI. He has battled some injuries during the year but remains one of the most consistent hitters in fantasy baseball.
  • TOR Starting Pitcher #17
Jose Berrios allowed five runs on five hits in five innings in a win over the Astros on Tuesday.
Berrios kept the Astros off the scoreboard for the first four innings, but the fifth inning was a bit of a disaster. The inning started with a hit by pitch and then a walk and then was followed by two singles and a home run to push five runs across the plate and end his day. The veteran has a 3.63 ERA on the year, but his underlying metrics suggest some regression is coming. Still, he should be able to survive a showdown against the Mariners this weekend.
  • CHC Relief Pitcher #19
Hayden Wesneski allowed five hits and five earned runs over five innings while striking out seven in Tuesday’s loss to the Phillies.
Things couldn’t have gone much worse for Wesneski, who allowed a season-high five runs on Tuesday against the Phillies. Shortstop Trea Turner was responsible for the majority of that damage, as he took Wesneski deep twice while driving in three runs. Wesneski has struck out seven batters in back-to-back games and will carry a 4.14 ERA into his next start, which is set for Sunday against the Angels.
