  • CIN Left Fielder #69

Reds designated OF Peyton Burdick for assignment.
Burdick was hitting just .190/.298/.361 in 43 games for Triple-A Louisville after opening the season with the Orioles’ Triple-A affiliate and hitting .182/.333/.455 there. He still has impressive power, but it doesn’t look like it’ll ever make up for his contact issues.
  • NYM Relief Pitcher #51

Mets recalled RHP Justin Hagenman from Triple-A Syracuse.
Hagenman has a 3.26 ERA in 19 1/3 innings for the Mets this season, though he did give up 12 runs in eight innings over three appearances during his latest Triple-A stint. He’ll be available to go long in relief or start if needed.
Schwarber enjoying a later career renaissance
James Schiano discusses Kyle Schwarber's 4-home-run game and whether he has done enough to challenge Shohei Ohtani for NL MVP.
  • NYM 2nd Baseman #2
Mets recalled INF Luisangel Acuña from Triple-A Syracuse.
Acuña, the NL Rookie of the Month way back in April, has hit .239/.295/.283 in 175 plate appearances for the Mets this season. He’ll likely serve mostly as a defensive replacement at second, though he could start occasionally against lefties.
  • CWS 3rd Baseman #44
White Sox recalled 3B Bryan Ramos from Triple-A Charlotte.
Ramos, who appeared in 32 games for the White Sox last year, will be making his 2025 debut after hitting .218/.317/.391 with 14 homers in 392 plate appearances for Charlotte. His stock has definitely declined some the last two years, and while he’s still just 23 and young enough to rebound, it’s hard to project him as the White Sox’s third baseman of the future at this point. He’ll probably share time with Curtis Mead for now, and he might be sent back down if Miguel Vargas comes back this month.
  • CWS Relief Pitcher #55
White Sox recalled LHP Fraser Ellard from Triple-A Charlotte.
Aside from one appearance as a 27th man in a doubleheader, Ellard had been stuck in the minors for the last four months. He has a 5.87 ERA in eight appearances for the White Sox this year, which is better than his 6.48 mark in the minors.
  • CHC 1st Baseman #41
Cubs signed 1B Carlos Santana to a one-year contract.
He’ll get to keep his usual 41 jersey, as Michael Soroka has made the switch to 19. The Cubs now have the league’s two oldest active position players, with the 39-year-old Santana slotting in behind the 40-year-old Justin Turner there but probably ahead of Turner on the depth chart. He’ll likely get some starts at first base against lefties and serve as a pinch-hitter.
  • CHC Right Fielder #13
Cubs recalled OF Kevin Alcántara from Triple-A Iowa.
Alcántara appeared in three games for the Cubs last season, but this is his first time up in 2025. The 23-year-old hit .266/.349/.470 with 17 homers and 10 steals in 430 plate appearances for Iowa. He’ll play sparingly unless an outfielder gets hurt.
  • CHC Right Fielder #19
Cubs optioned OF Owen Caissie to Triple-A Iowa.
Caissie was going to lose 2026 rookie eligibility if he spent the rest of the year in the majors, and the Cubs didn’t want that to happen. He heads back to Triple-A having gone 5-for-24 with a homer in 11 appearances.
  • CHC Shortstop #79
Cubs designated INF Ben Cowles for assignment.
Cowles got added to the 40-man after a nice 2024 in Double-A, but he was hitting a modest .238/.304/.382 with 132 strikeouts in 462 plate appearances in Triple-A this season. There’s a pretty good chance he’ll clear waivers.
  • MIL Relief Pitcher #48
Brewers recalled RHP Craig Yoho from Triple-A Nashville.
The 25-year-old hurler has struggled with his command during his brief time with the Brewers this season, posting an 8.22 ERA, 2.22 WHIP and a 5/9 K/BB ratio over 7 2/3 innings. He has terrific raw stuff, but he’s not going to help out in the Brewers’ bullpen if he can’t consistently throw strikes.
  • MIL Shortstop #3
Brewers activated INF Joey Ortiz from the 10-day injured list.
Ortiz landed on the injured list on August 22 with a left hamstring strain. He has made nice progress over the past week though and is ready to return on the first day that he’s eligible to do so without requiring a minor league rehab stint. The 27-year-old infielder has hit .233/.284/.328 with seven homers, 43 RBI and 11 swipes in 434 plate appearances with the Brewers this season.
