Henley cleared waivers in spite of his potential ability to soak up innings in the second half. The 27-year-old has a 4.50 ERA in 13 starts for Sugar Land. We hope he sees the majors again at some point, since his current career ERA of 135.00, the product of one start this April, is rather unsightly.

The versatile 23-year-old delivered a valuable insurance run with a two-out, 412-foot (106.1 mph EV) solo shot off of Luke Weaver in the eighth inning that increased the Red Sox’ lead to 2-0. On the season, he’s now hitting .244/.272/.417 with 11 long balls, 50 RBI and 11 stolen bases through his first 87 ballgames.

The 36-year-old hurler picked up his 18th save of the season for his troubles. He made quick work of the Yankees in this one, getting Ben Rice on a ground ball to first, Juan Soto on a liner to left and Aaron Judge on a swinging third strike to end it. Jansen has been as reliable as ever this season, converting 18 of his first 19 save chances while posting a 2.01 ERA over 31 1/3 innings of work.

The 28-year-old right-hander punched out four batters on the evening and didn’t walk a batter. He needed just 68 pitches (54 strikes) to get through his seven innings. Crawford has never pitched into the eighth inning in his big-league career though, and the Red Sox trusted their bullpen to get the final six outs. Crawford generated nine whiffs on the night while posting an elite CSW of 38 percent. He’ll attempt to finish the first half strong as he carries a stellar 3.24 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 106/28 K/BB ratio (105 2/3 innings) into Saturday’s matchup against the Royals.

The 26-year-old hurler scattered just four hits on the evening and didn’t walk a batter. He was engaged in a scoreless pitcher’s duel with Kutter Crawford until he served up an opposite-field solo homer to Rafael Devers in the seventh inning. Gil generated 15 swings and misses on 96 pitches in the ballgame — seven on his fastball and six on his slider — while posting a CSW of 31 percent. He’ll look to replicate this fine outing and finish the first half strong as he brings a 3.27 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and a 111/48 K/BB ratio (96 1/3 innings) into a tough matchup against the Orioles in Baltimore on Saturday.

Springer turned the game on its head and started the comeback for the Jays, crushing a game-tying 400-foot (106.9 mph EV) three-run homer off of Ryne Stanek in the seventh inning that knotted things up at 4-4. That would be his only hit on the night but played a critical role in the come-from-behind victory. On the season, the 34-year-old outfielder is now slashing .221/.311/.361 with 10 homers and 31 RBI.

The 27-year-old hurler was given a one-run lead to protect with a man on second to start the 10th inning and he didn’t disappoint. He did allow a one-out infield single to Dylan Moore, and then a double steal that put both runners into scoring position, but he rallied to get J.P. Crawford on a foul out to third base. Cabrera then walked Mitch Garver to load the bases before getting Cal Raleigh on a fly ball to center to end it. Cabrera isn’t going to steal many saves away from Chad Green (and eventually Yimi Garcia), but he has shown the ability to get the job done when called upon.

Overall, Berrios scattered seven hits on the afternoon while issuing one base on balls. All of the damage done against him came via the long ball, with Victor Robles launching a solo homer in the third inning and Mitch Garver crushing a three-run shot in the fifth. Berrios got 13 whiffs on 98 pitches in the ballgame, posting a CSW of 31 percent. He now holds a 3.76 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and an 87/29 K/BB ratio over 115 innings through his first 19 starts on the season. He’ll toe the slab against the Diamondbacks his next time out in Arizona on Saturday night.

Garver socked his 407-foot (102.8 mph EV) three-run shot off of Jose Berrios in the fifth inning, giving the Mariners a 4-1 lead. That would wind up being the extent of their offense. The 33-year-old backstop finished the day 2-for-5 plus a walk and is now hitting .179/.293/.371 with 12 homers and 36 RBI on the season.

The right-hander racked up eight strikeouts on the day while allowing only one base on balls. The Jays scratched out a run against him in the fourth inning on a sacrifice fly by Alejandro Kirk. Kirby then allowed a pair of singles to start the seventh inning before turning the ball over to the bullpen — and both runs ultimately scored. The 26-year-old hurler got 16 swings and misses on 93 pitches in the contest — 10 of those on his heater — while posting a strong CSW of 33 percent. He’ll look to finish his first half strong as he brings a 3.39 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and a 109/11 K/BB ratio (111 2/3 innings) into Saturday’s showdown against the Angels in Los Angeles.
