  • CIN Relief Pitcher #67
Reds optioned RHP Yosver Zulueta to Triple-A Louisville.
Zulueta performed well in his major league debut last night, allowing one run and striking out four in three innings out of the pen. It’ll help his chances of getting the call next time the Reds need a reliever.
  • CIN Shortstop #44
Elly De La Cruz went 2-for-5 with a triple, double, a run scored, one RBI, and a steal in the Reds’ 9-4 win over the Cardinals on Saturday.
De La Cruz brought a run in to score with a double in the third inning before stealing third base for his MLB-leading 40th steal of the season. He then tripled in the fifth and scored on a fielding error. The 22-year-old shortstop is slashing .255/.346/.474 with 14 homers, 55 runs scored, and 37 RBI across 355 plate appearances.
  • CIN Second Baseman #6
Jonathan India went 2-for-5 with two doubles, one run scored, and two RBI against the Cardinals on Saturday.
India put the Reds on the board in the third inning with a double to plate Austin Wynns from second base. He then scored on a double by Elly De La Cruz. He later doubled for a second time to drive in one more run in the seventh. The 27-year-old second baseman has had an incredible month, hitting .386 in June. He’s hitting .279/.383/.408 with five homers, 38 runs scored, 34 RBI, and eight steals across 311 plate appearances on the season.
  • STL First Baseman #46
Paul Goldschmidt went 1-for-4 with a solo homer against the Reds on Saturday.
Goldschmidt took Carson Spiers deep for a solo homer in the sixth inning for his only hit of the game as the Cardinals fell to the Reds. The 36-year-old slugger is up to 11 homers while slashing .228/.298/.367 with 39 runs scored, 33 RBI, and four steals across 344 plate appearances.
  • CIN Relief Pitcher #68
Carson Spiers allowed two runs -- one earned -- with four strikeouts over six innings in a win over the Cardinals on Saturday.
Spiers put together a solid start against the Cardinals on Saturday to earn his second win of the season. A double and a single to start the third inning would bring an unearned run in to score after a dropped foul pop error. Paul Goldschmidt took Spiers deep for a solo shot in the sixth for the second run before Spiers closed out the sixth inning for a quality start. He struck out four. The 26-year-old right-hander has been excellent for Cincinnati, posting a 3.13 ERA, 1.15 WHIP, and a 29/7 K/BB ratio across 37 1/3 innings. He’ll take on the Tigers at home on Friday.
  • STL Starting Pitcher #54
Sonny Gray allowed six runs -- three earned -- with six strikeouts over 4 1/3 innings in a loss to the Reds on Saturday.
Gray had worked through two scoreless innings to start the game before the Reds strung together three straight doubled to start the third inning, driving in two runs. A triple, a walk, and a hit batter loaded the bases with one out in the fifth. A fielding error would bring a run in and keep the bases loaded as Gray was relieved at 92 pitches. All inherited runners would come in to score. The 34-year-old right-hander will look to put this one behind him when he takes a 2.98 ERA, 0.99 WHIP, and a 109/23 K/BB ratio across 87 2/3 innings into a road start against the Nationals on Friday.
  • FA Shortstop #13
Alan Trejo has elected free agency.
The 28-year-old infielder was designated for assignment on Friday, but after passing through waivers unclaimed he refused an outright assignment to Triple-A Albuquerque and will instead peddle his wares on the open market. Trejo his just .143/.182/.143 in 67 plate appearances with the Rockies this season.
  • SF Starting Pitcher #45
Kyle Harrison (ankle) is not expected to require a minor league rehab start before rejoining the Giants’ rotation.
Harrison threw a bullpen session without issue on Friday. He’ll repeat the process again in a few days and if all goes well it sounds like he’ll be cleared to rejoin the Giants’ rotation. The 22-year-old hurler holds a 3.96 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and a 68/22 K/BB ratio over 77 1/3 innings through his first 14 starts on the season.
  • SF Starting Pitcher #7
Blake Snell (groin) will make a third minor league rehab start at Triple-A Sacramento on Wednesday.
The 31-year-old southpaw pitched three innings in Friday’s latest rehab outing, giving up three runs on four hits and a walk while punching out six. Snell got up to 62 pitches (41 strikes) in that outing. If all goes well with Wednesday’s start, he would slot back into the Giants’ starting rotation for the following week.
  • BAL Center Fielder #21
Austin Hays was held out of the Orioles’ starting lineup once again on Saturday due to soreness and swelling in his right knee.
Hays jammed his knee near the wall while patrolling the outfield earlier in the week, which is the reason that he has been held out of action since Tuesday. There’s a chance that he could be available off the O’s bench during Saturday night’s tilt against the Rangers.
  • CWS Shortstop #29
Paul Dejong went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer, two runs scored, and three RBI to power the White Sox to an 11-3 win over the Rockies on Saturday.
With the game tied in the sixth inning, Dejong took Cal Quantrill deep for a two-run blast to give the White Sox the lead. He then knocked a base hit in the eighth to bring home a run and extend the lead and scored on a home run by Korey Lee. The 30-year-old shortstop is hitting .241/.286/.460 with 15 homers and 34 RBI across 280 plate appearances.
