  • STL First Baseman #46
Paul Goldschmidt is being rested Monday against the Braves.
Goldschmidt’s scheduled day off was originally set for Saturday, but it was pushed back because of Nolan Arenado’s ailments. It’s happening today anyway, even though Arenado still isn’t back. Alec Burleson is playing first base.
  • KC Second Baseman #26
Adam Frazier is starting in right field and hitting eighth against the Yankees on Wednesday in Game 4 of the ALDS.
Frazier will get the nod in right field against right-hander Clarke Schmidt, which means Tommy Pham will begin the contest on the bench. The rest of the Royals lineup: 2B Michael Massey, SS Bobby Witt Jr., DH Vinnie Pasquantino, C Salvador Perez, 1B Yuli Gurriel, LF MJ Melendez, 3B Maikel Garcia, RF Frazier and CF Kyle Isbel.
  • CLE Starting Pitcher #28
Tanner Bibee will start Game 4 against the Tigers on Thursday.
Bibee will get the ball after throwing just 76 pitches in Game 1, and will be working with four days of rest because of the off-day between Game 1 and 2. The right-hander was able to fire 4 2/3 scoreless innings in his Game 1 outing.
  • PHI Outfielder
Weston Wilson is starting in left field and hitting eighth against the Mets on Wednesday in Game 4 of the NLDS.
Brandon Marsh is moving to center field for the contest, and Johan Rojas will retreat to the bench. Wilson was a solid surprise for the Phillies in 2024, and now will get a chance to make an impact in a must-win game for Philadelphia. The full lineup: DH Kyle Schwarber, SS Trea Turner, 1B Bryce Harper, RF Nick Castellanos, 3B Alec Bohm, C J.T. Realmuto, 2B Bryson Stott, LF Wilson and CF Marsh.
  • NYM Designated Hitter #28
J.D. Martinez is the designated hitter and hitting sixth for Game 4 of the NLDS against the Phillies on Wednesday.
With southpaw Ranger Suarez on the mound, Martinez will get the nod over Jesse Winker as the designated hitter. The full lineup as the Mets look to clinch a trip to the NLDS behind Jose Quintana: SS Francisco Lindor, 3B Mark Vientos, LF Brandon Nimmo, 1B Pete Alonso, 2B Jose Iglesias, DH Martinez, RF Starling Marte, CF Tyrone Taylor and C Francisco Alvarez.
  • CLE First Baseman #9
Kyle Manzardo is hitting second as the designated hitter against the Tigers on Wednesday in Game 3 of the ALDS.
Manzardo will get his first start of the postseason after two appearances as a pinch-hitter in the first two series. The 24-year-old gets the start with David Fry moving to the bench. Will Brennan also gets the start in right field with Jhonkensy Noel moving to the bench after starting the first two games. The full lineup against Keider Montero and the Detroit bullpen: LF Steven Kwan, DH Manzardo, 3B Jose Ramirez, 1B Josh Naylor, Lane Thomas CF, 2B Andrés Giménez, RF Brennan, C Bo Naylor and SS Brayan Roccio.
  • DET Starting Pitcher #54
Keider Montero is starting Game 3 of the ALDS against the Guardians on Wednesday.
Montero will get the nod as the Tigers look to take a 2-1 lead. The right-hander threw two innings of relief in Game 1, and while he’ll likely have a short leash because of how important this contest is, he should still be stretched out enough to give the Tigers some innings Wednesday.
  • DET Right Fielder #46
Wenceel Perez is hitting fifth and playing right field against the Guardians on Wednesday in Game 3 of the ALDS.
Perez has not been starting against right-handers in the postseason, but the 24-year-old will get the nod against Alex Cobb for the pivotal Game 3 contest. Zach McKinstry begins the contest on the bench. The full lineup for Wednesday’s contest: CF Parker Meadows, DH Kerry Carpenter, 3B Matt Vierling, LF Riley Greene, RF Perez, 2B Colt Keith, 1B Spencer Torkelson, SS Trey Sweeney and C Jake Rogers.
  • CIN First Baseman #33
Christian Encarnacion-Strand (wrist) drove in three runs while going 2-for-4 for Glendale in the Arizona Fall League on Wednesday.
Encarnacion-Strand is playing in the Arizona Fall League after missing a large portion of the 2024 season with damaged ligaments in his wrist. The 24-year-old still has significant offensive upside, but a logjam of corner-infield options could make him a trade candidate this spring.
  • CIN Shortstop #9
Matt McLain (ribs, shoulder) homered and doubled in the Arizona Fall League for Glendale on Tuesday.
McLain hit a 398-foot shot with 93.7 mph exit velocity in the fifth inning for the Desert Dogs. The 25-year-old also drew a walk and ended up scoring three times in the 15-13 slugfest. McLain missed all of the 2024 season due to injuries, but showed real promise in 2023 as a rookie, and could be a viable fantasy option in 2025.
  • SD Catcher
Padres C prospect Ethan Salas hit a two-run homer for Peoria in the Arizona Fall League on Tuesday.
Salas hit his two-run blast in the seventh inning, and it went an estimated 402 feet with a 100.4 mph exit velocity. The 18-year-old is coming off a disappointing offensive season, but he’s still widely considered one of — if not the — best catching prospect in baseball. The fact he’s playing against this level of competition as an 18-year-old makes it pretty clear how much the Padres believe in Salas in the long-term.
