  • BOS Relief Pitcher #44
Red Sox recalled RHP Isaiah Campbell from Triple-A Worcester.
The Red Sox used eight relievers in Sunday’s game, so they needed a shakeup before the start of the Blue Jays series. Campbell was an important addition for the Red Sox in the offseason, but he struggled to start the season before landing on the IL. Since coming back, he has been solid in Triple-A, posting a 2.19 ERA, 0.97 WHIP, and 18/3 K/BB ratio in 12 1/3 innings. There’s a chance he could pitch his way back into a key role in the Red Sox bullpen as the summer goes on.
  • SF Starting Pitcher #45
Kyle Harrison (ankle) is not expected to require a minor league rehab start before rejoining the Giants’ rotation.
Harrison threw a bullpen session without issue on Friday. He’ll repeat the process again in a few days and if all goes well it sounds like he’ll be cleared to rejoin the Giants’ rotation. The 22-year-old hurler holds a 3.96 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and a 68/22 K/BB ratio over 77 1/3 innings through his first 14 starts on the season.
  • SF Starting Pitcher #7
Blake Snell (groin) will make a third minor league rehab start at Triple-A Sacramento on Wednesday.
The 31-year-old southpaw pitched three innings in Friday’s latest rehab outing, giving up three runs on four hits and a walk while punching out six. Snell got up to 62 pitches (41 strikes) in that outing. If all goes well with Wednesday’s start, he would slot back into the Giants’ starting rotation for the following week.
  • BAL Center Fielder #21
Austin Hays was held out of the Orioles’ starting lineup once again on Saturday due to soreness and swelling in his right knee.
Hays jammed his knee near the wall while patrolling the outfield earlier in the week, which is the reason that he has been held out of action since Tuesday. There’s a chance that he could be available off the O’s bench during Saturday night’s tilt against the Rangers.
  • CWS Shortstop #29
Paul Dejong went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer, two runs scored, and three RBI to power the White Sox to an 11-3 win over the Rockies on Saturday.
With the game tied in the sixth inning, Dejong took Cal Quantrill deep for a two-run blast to give the White Sox the lead. He then knocked a base hit in the eighth to bring home a run and extend the lead and scored on a home run by Korey Lee. The 30-year-old shortstop is hitting .241/.286/.460 with 15 homers and 34 RBI across 280 plate appearances.
  • CWS Center Fielder #88
Luis Robert Jr. went 1-for-4 with a solo homer, two runs scored, and a walk against the Rockies on Saturday.
Robert Jr. led off the sixth inning with a game-tying solo homer off Cal Quantrill, his nine homer of the season and seventh in June. He then drew a walk to lead off the eighth and scored on a base hit by Andrew Vaughn. Robert struck out to end the same frame as Chicago hit around the order. Despite the power surge this month, the 26-year-old outfielder is hitting .207/.285/.505 with 13 RBI and three steals across 123 plate appearances.
  • COL Shortstop #7
Brendan Rodgers went 2-for-2 with a home run, two runs scored, and a walk against the White Sox on Saturday.
Rodgers put the Rockies on the board with a solo homer off Jonathan Cannon in the second inning. He then drew a walk to lead off the fifth and scored on a home run by Nolan Jones. Rodgers would reach again with a base hit to lead off the seventh. The 27-year-old second baseman is slashing a solid .280/.316/.410 with five homers and 27 RBI across 253 plate appearances.
  • COL Third Baseman #22
Nolan Jones went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer against the White Sox on Saturday.
Jones took Jonathan Cannon deep for a two-run shot in the fifth inning. It was only his third home run of the season as he’s struggled to a .192/.298/.323 slash line, striking out 33.1 percent of the time across 151 plate appearances.
  • CWS Starting Pitcher #48
Jonathan Cannon allowed three runs with three strikeouts over 5 2/3 innings in a no-decision against the Rockies on Saturday.
Cannon served up a solo homer to Brendan Rodgers in the second inning, then a two run shot to Nolan Jones in the fifth. He recorded the first two outs in the sixth before a base hit would end his day. He struck out three. The 23-year-old right-hander will take a 4.62 ERA, 1.31 WHIP, and a 32/7 K/BB ratio across 39 innings into a matchup against the Marlins in Miami on Friday.
  • COL Starting Pitcher #47
Cal Quantrill allowed five runs with eight strikeout over 5 1/3 innings in a loss to the White Sox on Saturday.
Quantrill was cruising through four inning, allowing just two baserunners into the fifth. Things unraveled quickly. Lenyn Sosa took him deep for a two-run shot to put the White Sox on the board. Luis Robert Jr. followed with a solo homer to lead off the sixth. Then Paul Delong put Chicago ahead with a two-run blast that would knock Quantrill from the game with one out in the sixth. The 29-year-old right-hander will take a 3.78 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, and a 72/34 K/BB ratio across 95 1/3 innings into a start against the Brewers in Colorado on Thursday.
  • TEX Starting Pitcher #51
Tyler Mahle (elbow) will begin a minor league rehab assignment next week.
The 29-year-old hurler is working his way back from Tommy John surgery and will likely need at least three starts in the minor leagues before he’s an option to join the Rangers’ rotation. If all goes according to plan, Mahle could be ready to make his 2024 season debut shortly after the All-Star break.
