Cardinals optioned RHP Adam Kloffenstein to Triple-A Memphis.
Kloffenstein was the corresponding move for the activation of Giovanny Gallegos from the injured list. The 23-year-old right-hander will return to the minors after tossing a scoreless inning in his first major league appearance on Thursday.
  • LAA Right Fielder #12

Jorge Soler (groin) is back in the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Athletics.
Soler is back in right field and batting fifth on Tuesday night at Angel Stadium following a brief two-game absence recovering from a lingering groin issue. It doesn’t appear to be a serious concern moving forward, but the Angels are likely to be cautious with his workload to avoid a setback.
Fantasy expectations for Red Sox's Anthony
Primed to hit in the middle of Boston's lineup, top prospect Roman Anthony appears set to deliver raw power and a selective approach for the Red Sox and fantasy managers moving forward.
  • SF Starting Pitcher #35
Justin Verlander (pectoral) will throw a bullpen session on Wednesday.
Verlander faced hitters on Friday in a roughly 35-pitch simulated game and appears on track to rejoin San Francisco’s rotation at some point soon. The club has had the luxury to avoid rushing him back with lefty Kyle Harrison pitching well, but they’ll likely have a tough decision to make in the coming days.
  • SF Relief Pitcher #12
Jordan Hicks (toe) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session on Tuesday.
Hicks doesn’t appear to be facing a lengthy absence after landing on the shelf last week with right toe inflammation. It’s possible he’ll be ready to rejoin San Francisco’s bullpen mix without a rehab assignment.
  • CWS Catcher #8
Kyle Teel is at catcher and batting sixth on Tuesday against the Astros.
Teel is hitting .375 (3-for-8) through three games since being called up last week from Triple-A Charlotte. The 23-year-old top prospect figures to play virtually everyday for the rebuilding White Sox, spending time at DH in addition to splitting the catching duties with fellow rookie Edgar Quero.
  • HOU Starting Pitcher #41
Spencer Arrighetti (thumb) will progress to throwing a bullpen session next week.
Arrighetti suffered a fractured thumb during a freak accident during on-field batting practice back in early April and could return to Houston’s injury-ravaged rotation at some point in the next few weeks. The 25-year-old righty is going to need a handful of rehab outings to build up his pitch count and stamina, but there’s a chance he’s back at some point in July.
  • BAL 3rd Baseman #11
Jordan Westburg is at third base and batting sixth on Tuesday against the Tigers in his return to the lineup.
Westburg is back in Baltimore’s lineup for the first time since late April when he suffered a left hamstring strain. Cedric Mullins is at DH and batting ninth in his return to the lineup on Tuesday night. The versatile 26-year-old infielder is expected to serve as the Orioles’ primary option at the hot corner moving forward with top prospect Coby Mayo shifting over to first base permanently.
  • SF Center Fielder #51
Jung Hoo Lee (back) is in the lineup for Tuesday’s series opener against the Rockies.
It’s an encouraging sign that Lee is feeling ready to go after sitting out a pair of contest against Atlanta over the weekend due to back tightness. He’s in center field and leading off on Tuesday night against Rockies rookie lefty Carson Palmquist.
  • NYY 1st Baseman #22
Ben Rice is not in the lineup for Tuesday’s series opener against the Royals.
No surprise here as Rice will retreat to the bench with rookie southpaw Noah Cameron drawing the starting assignment in this one. It’ll be veteran Paul Goldschmidt at first base and leading off with Aaron Judge getting a turn at DH while Trent Grisham patrols center field and bats second. The 26-year-old figures to cede playing time to Giancarlo Stanton, who is kicking off a rehab assignment on Tuesday night, once he’s ready to make his season debut in a couple weeks.
  • TEX Shortstop #5
Corey Seager is in the lineup for Tuesday’s series opener against the Twins.
Seager is mired in one of the worst stretches of his career, going hitless (0-for-22) in six consecutive games since the start of June. The 31-year-old fantasy stalwart is batting .059 (2-for-34) in nine games since returning from the injured list back on May 28. It’s only a matter of time before he gets going again, but he’s really struggling at the dish of late.
  • TEX Left Fielder #36
Wyatt Langford is back in the lineup for Tuesday’s series opener against the Twins.
Langford took a seat on Sunday amid a prolonged 21-for-116 slump at the dish over his last 30 games. The 23-year-old former top prospect is one of the most exciting power/speed combo talents in the fantasy landscape, but he’s been in a rut for a couple weeks at this juncture. Hopefully the extra time enables him to reset mentally and get back on track.
