  • HOU Center Fielder #6
Jake Meyers went 0-for-3 in the loss to the White Sox on Tuesday.
It’s a fourth straight hitless game for Meyers, who is in a 10-for-65 slump that has dropped his OPS from .898 to .713. The good news for Meyers is that with José Abreu gone and Chas McCormick still in the doghouse, there isn’t much of a playing time crunch in Houston right now. That’ll change if McCormick picks it up or maybe if Joey Loperfido is given a chance later this month.
  • PHI Third Baseman #28
Alec Bohm went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer on Wednesday, leading the Phillies to a 5-3 victory over the Cubs.
Just a few hours after being named to the National League’s starting third baseman for the upcoming Midsummer Classic, the first All-Star Game selection of his career, Bohm took Cubs ace Shota Imanaga deep for a two-run blast -- his 11th round-tripper of the season -- to help the Phillies to a late-inning comeback victory. The 27-year-old slugger is in the midst of the best season of his career by a considerable margin, batting .299 with 40 runs scored, 11 homers, 70 RBI and four steals through 84 games.
  • CHC Left Fielder #52
Pete Crow-Armstrong smacked a pair of RBI doubles on Wednesday in the Cubs’ loss to the Phillies.
Crow-Armstrong delievered a pair of run-scoring doubles off Phillies ace Zack Wheeler before being lifted for a pinch-hitter in the ninth inning with Chicago trailing by two runs at the time. The 22-year-old top prospect hasn’t exactly torn the cover off the ball, but he’s shown some flashes of fantasy upside, especially in the stolen base department. He’s a phenomenal defender in center field, which is going to keep him around for a long time, but he remains a work in progress at the dish.
  • PHI Relief Pitcher #46
José Alvarado fired a scoreless ninth inning on Wednesday against the Cubs to record his 13th save of the season.
Alvarado was summoned to protect a two-run lead in the bottom of the ninth inning at Wrigley Field and managed to work around a one-out single by David Bote to preserve the victory. The 29-year-old lefty has converted 13 of his 15 save opportunities this season for Philadelphia.
  • PHI Starting Pitcher #45
Zack Wheeler recorded seven strikeouts and allowed two runs over six innings on Wednesday in a no-decision against the Cubs.
Wheeler gave up only five hits with a pair of run-scoring doubles from Cubs rookie Pete Crow-Armstrong accounting for all of the damage against him across six frames. He induced 13 swinging strikes and finished with a 28 percent CSW. The 34-year-old fantasy ace has allowed two earned runs or fewer in 15 of his 18 starts so far this season. He’ll bring a stellar 2.74 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 119/33 K/BB ratio across 11 2/3 innings (18 starts) into a challenging home matchup against the Dodgers in his penulatimate outing prior to the Midsummer Classic.
  • CHC Starting Pitcher #18
Shota Imanaga struck out eight and yielded three runs over six innings on Wednesday in a no-decision against the Phillies.
Imanaga was cruising along early before giving up a solo homer to Phillies backstop Rafael Marchán in the third inning and a two-run blast to All-Star third baseman Alec Bohm in his final frame of work. He generated 13 swinging strikes and finished with a 28 percent CSW. He’ll carry a sparkling 3.16 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 92/15 K/BB ratio across 91 innings (16 starts) into a tough road tilt against the Orioles on Tuesday in his penulatimate outing prior to the All-Star break.
  • DET Catcher #15
Carson Kelly clobbered a grand slam in the third inning on Wednesday night, powering the Tigers to a 9-2 victory over the Twins in Minneapolis.
Kelly broke up a scoreless tie when he crushed a 387-foot (103.5 mph EV) grand slam off of David Festa in the third inning. That would be his only hit in four at-bats on the night, but was all the offense that Keider Montero and company would require in this one. On the season, the 29-year-old backstop is now hitting .245/.321/.406 with six homers and 25 RBI. He’s looking increasingly likely to be dealt in advance of the trade deadline at the end of the month.
  • MIN Shortstop #80
Brooks Lee had a memorable MLB debut in Wednesday’s loss to the Tigers, going 2-for-4 with a pair of singles and an RBI.
After taking a called third strike from Keider Montero in his first at-bat, Lee shot a sharp single into center field in the fourth inning for his first big-league hit. He added his first RBI in the seventh inning, plating Byron Buxton with a single to center. He’s going to play on a nightly basis with Royce Lewis (groin) shelved and deserves consideration in all mixed leagues.
  • DET Center Fielder #31
Riley Greene went 3-for-4 with a homer, triple and two RBI on Wednesday evening, helping to lead the Tigers to victory over the Twins.
Greene smacked a two-out triple in the first inning, but the Tigers were unable to cash him in. He then reached on an infield single to load the bases with two outs in the third inning, then rode home on Carson Kelly’s grand slam. He also clubbed a 427-foot (111.8 mph EV) two-run blast off of David Festa in the fifth inning that extended the Tigers’ lead to 7-1. With the three-hit attack, the dynamic 23-year-old outfielder is now hitting .260/.354/.497 with a team-leading 16 homers, 43 RBI and four stolen bases on the year.
  • DET Left Fielder #8
Matt Vierling went 1-for-5 with a two-run homer and a pair of runs scored on Wednesday as the Tigers triumphed over the Twins in Minnesota.
Showing no ill-effects of the foot issue that kept him out of the lineup on Sunday and Tuesday, Vierling bunted into a fielder’s choice in the third inning and rode home on Carson Kelly’s grand slam. He then did a little yard work of his own, crushing a 386-foot (108.9 mph EV) two-run shot off of Kody Funderburk in the ninth inning that capped off the scoring in the contest. On the season, he’s now hitting .249/.284/.443 with 11 homers and 35 RBI.
  • DET Starting Pitcher
Keider Montero earned the first victory of his MLB career on Wednesday, limiting the Twins to two runs on six hits over his 6 1/3 innings of work.
The 23-year-old hurler punched out four batters on the night while allowing just one base on balls. He served up a solo homer to Christian Vazquez in the third inning then kept the Twins’ offense at bay until Brooks Lee delivered an RBI single in the seventh. Montero got eight swings and misses on 80 pitches on the evening — five on his slider — while posting a CSW of 33 percent. He’ll attempt to further improve upon his 6.60 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 15/5 K/BB ratio (15 innings) when he does battle against the Guardians next week.
