  • WAS Outfielder
The Nationals have promoted 2023 first-round pick Dylan Crews from Double-A Harrisburg to Triple-A Rochester.
After a slow start, Crews was up to .274/.343/.446 in a rather tough hitting environment in the Eastern League (he was actually hitting .317/.394/.512 in road games). With James Wood ahead of him in line for an outfield spot, Crews remains something of a long shot to make an impact in the majors this season. Stranger things have happened, though.
  • MIA Left Fielder #54
Dane Myers went 2-for-4 with a home run, double, and five RBI to lead the Marlins to an 8-1 win over the Blue Jays on Saturday.
Myers doubled to drive in two runs for the Marlins in the sixth inning. He further extended the lead in the eighth with a three-run blast off Génesis Cabrera for his fifth RBI on the day. The 28-year-old outfielder has made the most of his opportunities this season, hitting .264/.337/.451 with three homers, 19 RBI, and four steals across 104 plate appearances.
  • MIA Right Fielder #56
Griffin Conine with 3-for-4 with a double, two runs scored, and an RBI against the Blue Jays on Saturday.
Conine has hit well for the Marlins this month. He added three more hits in the win over the Blue Jays on Saturday. Conine doubled in the first inning to drive in a run, then knocked a base hit in the sixth before scoring on a single by Johnny Pereda. Conine added a third hit with a single in the eighth and scored again on a home run by Dane Myers. The 27-year-old outfielder has hit .282/.341/.474 with three homers, 14 runs scored, and 12 RBI across 85 plate appearances.
  • TOR Center Fielder #38
Nathan Lukes went 1-for-4 with a solo homer against the Marlins on Saturday.
Lukes put Toronto’s only run on the board with a solo homer off Xzavion Curry in the first inning. It was the first career home run for the 30-year-old outfielder. The career minor-leaguer has hit .303/.371/.447 with 13 runs scored and ten RBI across 91 plate appearances for the Blue Jays this season.
  • MIA Relief Pitcher #49
Xzavion Curry allowed one run with one strikeout over five innings in a win over the Blue Jays on Saturday.
Curry stepped in for the spot start on Saturday and was excellent for the Marlins, holding the Blue Jays to one run over five frames. The one run came on a solo homer by Nathan Lukes in the first inning. He scattered just one more hit and one walk through five innings to earn the win.
  • TOR Starting Pitcher #29
Yariel Rodríguez allowed two runs with five strikeouts over five innings in a loss to the Marlins on Saturday.
Rodríguez had some trouble finding the zone in the first inning, walking two batters before Jonah Bride drove in a run with a base hit. Griffin Conine followed with a double to plate a second run before Rodríguez escaped the frame. He settled in to toss four more scoreless innings, leaving with a runner on in the sixth and no outs at 82 pitches. He struck out five. The 27-year-old right-hander has posted a 4.47 ERA, 1.32 WHIP, and a 85/40 K/BB ratio across 86 2/3 innings.
  • NYY Starting Pitcher #98
Yankees optioned RHP Will Warren to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
Warren was recalled before Saturday’s game and now is getting sent down after allowing three runs in an inning versus the Pirates. He winds up with a 10.32 ERA in five starts and one relief appearance for the Yankees.
  • HOU Left Fielder #44
With the inflammation in his knee having gone down, Yordan Alvarez could resume baseball activities on Sunday, manager Joe Espada said.
If all goes well, it sounds like he has a chance of being on the Wild Card roster as a DH. Alvarez hasn’t played since last Sunday due to a sprained knee.
  • MIN Starting Pitcher #17
Bailey Ober is expected to start Sunday in spite of the Twins’ elimination.
Ober doesn’t really have much anything to shoot for Sunday, unless he can strike out 13 to get to 200. He’s already established new career highs in wins, strikeouts and innings. The one bad thing that could happen would be for his ERA to rise over 4.00; he’s at 3.94 right now.
  • MIN Right Fielder #9
Twins placed OF Trevor Larnach on the 10-day injured list with a strained left hamstring.
Larnach finishes the year with a .259/.338/.434 line and 15 homers in 400 plate appearances. It’s a nice little step forward for him — his wOBA and xwOBA were up about 30 points from his previous career marks — and the Twins figure to pencil him in as a platoon corner outfielder next year.
  • MIN Center Fielder #89
Twins recalled OF DaShawn Keirsey Jr. from Triple-A St. Paul.
Keirsey should get one or two late starts here with Trevor Larnach going on the IL. He went 1-for-10 in his major league debut earlier this month, but he wound up with a nice .300/.368/.476 line and 36 steals in Triple-A.
