The results of that exam are not yet known. The 30-year-old slugger sustained the injury on Tuesday while he was running out a ground ball in the seventh inning. While the severity of the injury remains unclear, it sounds like the Nationals expect him to be sidelined for a while this time around.

The 35-year-old outfielder has been outstanding since joining the Angels with a slash of .299/.355/.512 over his 138 at-bats, so it’s possible if he keeps playing well he could change his mind. For now it appears this will be the last year of MLB action for the outfielder.

Lodolo has been on the injured list since June 25 while dealing with a blister issue. The southpaw hurler has completed two sessions over the last week, and he’s eligible to come off the list Tuesday. There’s no timetable for when he’ll actually return, and there’s a chance that we won’t see Lodolo until after the All-Star break, but it’s at least positive that he’s able to throw right now.

The 33-year-old veteran first baseman has homered five times since June 2 and is batting an absurd .500 (15-for-30) with five round-trippers and 13 RBI over his last seven contests. Simply put, he’s one of the hottest hitters in baseball at the moment.

Kim came through with a clutch game-tying double in the eighth inning off Diamondbacks reliever Ryan Thompson, that wound up eventually sending the contest to extra innings. The 28-year-old infielder has just three homers and four steals over his last 30 games, but he’s already at 10 homers and 17 thefts overall this season through 91 games leading into the All-Star break.

With Paul Sewald presumably unavailable after a blown save on Friday night, Castellanos got the call to protect a two-run lead after Thyago Viera served up an RBI double to Donovan Solano and recorded just one out to open the 10th inning. The -year-old righty struck out Ha-Seong Kim on a foul tip before coaxing a game-ending fly out from Kyle Higashioka to put out the fire.

Waldron gave up five hits, including a fourth-inning solo shot to Lourdes Gurriel Jr., but managed to turn in another quality start. He struck out six and only handed out a pair of free passes. The 27-year-old knuckleballer was lone gone before this one was eventually decided in an extra-inning marathon. He’ll bring a solid 3.61 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 93/30 K/BB ratio across 99 2/3 innings (18 starts) into his first-half finale on Saturday against the Braves.

Doyle’s 408-foot moonshot off Royals starter Seth Lugo in the second-inning was his fourth round-tripper in his last five contests and also gave Colorado an early advantage that they didn’t relinquish. The 26-year-old was already a brilliant defender in center field coming into the year, but he’s made some serious strides at the plate this season with 11 homers and 20 steals already heading into the All-Star break. He’s on fire at the moment, batting a surreal .423 (11-for-26) with four homers, nine RBI and one steal over his last seven contests.

Pasquantino’s sixth-inning blast off Rockies starter Austin Gomber was his 11th deep fly of the season and represented the lone run for Kansas City in a rare low-scoring affair at Coors Field. The 26-year-old first baseman is batting .305 (18-for-59) with four homers and 13 RBI over his last 15 games.
