  • HOU Center Fielder #38
Astros recalled OF Trey Cabbage from Triple-A Sugar Land.
Cabbage provides Houston with a little more of an offensive threat off the bench than Grae Kessinger and also represents extra outfield insurance with Kyle Tucker dealing with a shin contusion. The 27-year-old has omnipresent contact issues, but he certainly can do some damage when he connects.
  • NYY Left Fielder #22
Juan Soto went 2-for-3 with two walks, a double and a home run against the Rays on Thursday.
Soto doubled in the first inning, but Alex Verdugo was held at third base and the Yankees ended up not scoring in the inning. He hit a solo home run off Shane Baz in the third inning to tie the game 2-2. In the seventh inning, Soto swung and missed at a Jason Adam changeup that left him grimacing. Soto seemed to be favoring his hand, but stayed in the game. He’s hitting .297 with a .992 OPS and 64 RBI on the season.
  • TB Third Baseman #2
Yandy Diaz went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two runs scored against the Yankees on Thursday.
Diaz lead the game off for Tampa Bay with a double that was scorched and may or may not have hit the catwalk at Tropicana Field. He came around to score on Randy Arozarena’s home run. Diaz also lead off the third inning with a double and scored on an RBI single by Brandon Lowe. Diaz is hitting .272 with a .724 OPS on the season.
  • TB Left Fielder #56
Randy Arozarena went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run against the Yankees on Thursday.
The home run was Arozarena’s 12th of the season. He’s 24-for-81 (.296) with four home runs, 10 RBI and five stolen bases in his last 23 games. Arozarena is hitting just .203 with a .679 OPS on the season, but he’s certainly heading into the all-star break on a positive note.
  • TB Relief Pitcher #29
Pete Fairbanks allowed one run and picked up the save against the Yankees on Thursday.
The save was Fairbanks’ 16th of the year. He walked two batters and allowed an RBI single to Ben Rice before getting Gleyber Torres to popout to end the game. His ERA is 3.31 on the season and he’s saved 11 games since the start of June.
  • TB Starting Pitcher #11
Shane Baz allowed three runs in 4 1/3 innings and got a no-decision in the Rays’ 5-4 victory over the Yankees on Thursday.
Baz gave up six hits, walked one and struck out five. His stuff looked electric, which was a good sign, but the results weren’t anything special. Baz gave up home runs to Austin Wells and Juan Soto and the Yankees also scored on a sacrifice fly in the fifth inning. Baz has a 5.23 ERA after two starts and will look for better results in the second half of the year.
  • NYY Starting Pitcher #65
Nestor Cortes allowed five runs in 4 1/3 innings and took the loss against the Rays on Thursday.
Cortes gave up seven hits, walked two and struck out four. Cortes had posted a quality start in four of his last five games, but was hit hard in this one. Randy Arozarena hit a home run in his first at-bat, but Yandy Diaz and Jose Siri both hit doubles with at least 100 mph exit velocity that easily could’ve been home runs as well. Cortes’ ERA is up to 3.67 on the year.
  • BOS Right Fielder #52
Wilyer Abreu went 3-for-4 with a double, a home run and two RBI against the Athletics on Thursday.
The home run was Abreu’s eighth of the season. He was 8-for-42 (.191) in his last 14 games, but had three hits and with the home run he’s homered in two of his last three games. The all-star break is three days away, but Abreu could be figuring it out at the plate and be a mixed league option in the second half.
  • BOS Catcher #12
Connor Wong went 2-for-3 with a walk, three runs scored and a solo home run against the Athletics on Thursday.
Wong’s home run was his eighth of the season. The hits keep coming for Wong as this was his third straight game with a hit. Wong’s hitting .314 with an .826 OPS and 32 RBI on the season. He’s been a nice find, especially in two-catcher formats this year.
  • OAK Starting Pitcher #46
Luis Medina allowed six runs in five innings and took the loss against the Red Sox on Thursday night.
Medina gave up seven hits, walked two and struck out seven. Medina had allowed no more than one earned run in three of his last four starts, but he struggled against the Red Sox. He gave up three runs in the first inning and solo home runs in the third and fourth inning to make it 5-0 Boston. He was removed after a Connor Wong single in the sixth inning and Wong scored on a home run by Masataka Yoshida with the run being charged to Medina. He has a 5.18 ERA on the season and is off the fantasy radar.
  • BOS Starting Pitcher #89
Tanner Houck threw six shutout innings and got the win in the Red Sox’ 7-0 victory over the Athletics on Thursday.
Houck gave up two hits, walked three and struck out six. The win was his eighth of the season. Houck looked sharp in his last start before the all-star game, where he’ll represent the Red Sox and the American League. He lowered his ERA to 2.54 on the season.
