Brooks Raley will undergo season-ending Tommy John surgery.
Raley has been on the shelf since spring training due to ligament damage and bone spurs in his left elbow, which will wind up requiring surgery. The 35-year-old southpaw will likely be out until at least the late stages of the 2025 campaign, so it’s fair to wonder whether he’ll make it back at this advanced stage of his career. It’s a big loss for the Mets as Raley was one of their more reliable left-handed relief options.

Cole Ragans struck out five over four scoreless innings on Tuesday against the Diamondbacks.
Ragans was in midseason form on Tuesday afternoon as he averaged 97.5 mph on his four-seam fastball while generating 12 swinging strikes and finishing with a 28 percent CSW. The 27-year-old southpaw blossomed into an upper-echelon fantasy contributor last year and is a top-10 option at the position this spring.
  • MIL First Baseman #12
Rhys Hoskins walloped his fifth spring homer on Tuesday, lifting the Brewers to a 9-7 victory over the Cubs in Cactus League action.
Hoskins took Cubs lefty Justin Steele deep to left field in the opening frame for a two-run blast. It was one of four homers for the Brewers in this one as Vinny Capra, Jake Bauers and Oliver Dunn also went deep in a high-scoring slugfest.
  • MIL Starting Pitcher #93
Jacob Misiorowski was tagged for four runs over 1 2/3 innings on Tuesday against the Cubs.
Misiorowski has the stuff required to dominate in high-leverage spots, but it seems like the Brewers are committed to continuing his development as a starter for now. The hard-throwing 22-year-old top pitching prospect figures to open the year back at Triple-A Nashville, but will be an option for Milwaukee at some point later this season, if everything goes according to plan.
  • CHC Starting Pitcher #35
Justin Steele was torched for seven runs over 3 2/3 innings on Tuesday against the Brewers.
Steele was pounded for 10 hits, including three homers, in his final spring outing. He struck out three and didn’t hand out a free pass. The 29-year-old southpaw will kick off the regular season by square off against Dodgers phenom Roki Sasaki next week in Game 2 of the Tokyo Series.
  • TEX Left Fielder #36
Wyatt Langford finished 3-for-3 with a homer and three RBI in the Rangers’ 13-6 win against the Angels on Tuesday.
Langford figured to get off to a slow start after missing the first couple of weeks with a strained oblique, but he’s instead 5-for-8 with no strikeouts since returning Saturday. Expectations are that he’ll be the Rangers’ everyday No. 3 hitter, increasing the chances that he’ll rate as a top-15 or maybe even top-10 fantasy outfielder in his second big-league season.
  • TEX Starting Pitcher #35
Jack Leiter worked around five walks to allow only one run in 2 2/3 innings Tuesday against the Angels.
Leiter also struck out five. He allowed just one hit, a single. The 24-year-old has shown terrific stuff this spring, with most of his pitches up by two ticks, but he’s still going to need better control in order to help the Rangers. His chances of claiming a rotation spot would go up significantly if Tyler Mahle requires an IL stint.
  • LAA Starting Pitcher #54
José Suarez lasted just two-thirds of an inning and gave up six runs — five earned — in his start against the Rangers on Tuesday.
Suarez walked two and allowed two homers. The Angels could have non-tendered him over the winter after he struggled to a 6.02 ERA in 52 1/3 innings last season, but they kept him around, intending to use him as a middle reliever. He entered today with a 2.57 ERA and a 9/1 K/BB in seven innings, so he still should have a decent chance of making the team.
  • LAA Center Fielder #8
Mickey Moniak hit his second homer of the spring Tuesday against the Rangers.
Moniak is at .233/.281/.533 in 32 plate appearances this spring, compared to .182/.222/.364 in 36 plate appearances for Jo Adell. The Angels shouldn’t be basing their center field decision on spring performance, but it should be noted that Moniak is the better defender and might also be the better hitter against righties.
  • LAA Second Baseman #87
Christian Moore doubled and walked twice against the Rangers on Tuesday.
Luis Rengifo’s hamstring injury has upped the chances of Moore breaking camp with the Angels. It seems unlikely that the 2024 first-rounder is truly ready to be a quality major league regular, but the talent is there, and it’s the Angels Way to challenge, rather than develop.
  • LAD Starting Pitcher #11
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts confirmed that Roki Sasaki will start Game 2 of the Tokyo Series against the Cubs.
Sasaki recorded two strikeouts over four shutout innings on Tuesday against the Guardians in his final spring tune-up. The 23-year-old phenom has lived up to the astronomical hype this spring in a pair of Cactus League outings, scattering three hits and three walks with seven strikeouts over seven shutout frames. His fastball velocity has been consistently in the upper 90’s and his signature splitter has looked unhittable at times this spring. He threw 41 pitches (23 strikes) on Tuesday afternoon, scattering one hit and a pair of walks over four frames. Based on his early-spring performance, Sasaki should be a borderline top-30 starting pitcher in fantasy drafts.
