  • CIN Relief Pitcher #32
Reds placed LHP Justin Wilson on the 15-day injured list with left shoulder tightness.
The 36-year-old southpaw has seen plenty of action out of the Reds’ bullpen this season, posting an underwhelming 5.91 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and a 14/2 K/BB ratio over 10 2/3 innings in his 16 appearances. It’s not yet clear how long he’s expected to be shelved for. Carson Spiers was recalled from Triple-A Louisville in a corresponding move to replace Wilson in the Reds’ bullpen.
  • DET Left Fielder #8
Matt Vierling (foot) remains absent from the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Twins.
Vierling will get another day off to rest and recover after being scratched from Sunday’s series finale against the Angels due to left foot soreness. It’ll be Riley Greene patrolling center field in his absence with Akil Baddoo stepping into the lineup to cover left field.
  • TOR First Baseman #27
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (finger) is back in the lineup for Tuesday’s showdown against the Astros.
Guerrero is back at first base and batting third after being scratched from Monday’s series opener due to right finger discomfort after being hit by a pitch over the weekend. The 25-year-old fantasy stalwart has been sizzling-hot at the dish over the last few weeks, batting .365 (23-for-63) with six homers and 20 RBI over his last 15 games.
  • TEX Third Baseman #6
Josh Jung is day-to-day with soreness in his surgically-repaired right wrist.
Jung told reporters Tuesday that he hasn’t swung a bat since his last minor league rehab contest back in mid-June and they’re taking things day-by-day at the moment. The 26-year-old third baseman doesn’t appear close to rejoining the Rangers’ lineup at this point and it’s unclear when he’ll be ready to return to game action.
  • ATL Shortstop #11
Orlando Arica is day-to-day with an abscessed tooth.
It certainly sounds painful. Arcia is out of the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Giants and isn’t even at the ballpark for the contest due to the issue. It doesn’t sound like he’ll need a trip to the injured list, but he figures to miss at least a couple additional games this week.
  • ATL Center Fielder #18
Ramón Laureano (back) might require a trip to the injured list.
Laureano remains day-to-day with back soreness, but Braves manager Brian Snitker told reporters Tuesday that it’s morphed into more of an oblique issue at this point. It’s possible he’ll wind up requiring a trip to the injured list later this week.
  • NYM Left Fielder #9
Brandon Nimmo (head) remains out of the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Nationals.
The positive news here is that Nimmo is merely dealing with a forehead laceration that he suffered on Sunday night when he fell in his hotel room. The 31-year-old outfielder, who boasts a .291 (34-for-117) average with six homers and two steals over his last 30 games, will sit out a second straight contest on Tuesday evening, but it doesn’t appear that he’s facing a lengthy absence. It’ll be Jeff McNeil in left field once again in his place.
  • HOU Second Baseman #27
Jose Altuve is back in the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Blue Jays.
Altuve received a rare day off during Monday’s series opener following a sizzling-hot June where he batted .333 (34-for-102) with four homers and five steals over 25 contests.
  • CIN Catcher #37
Reds activated C Tyler Stephenson from the paternity list.
Stephenson is back handling the catching duties on Tuesday night after a four-game absence to be with his family for the birth of their child.
  • CIN Catcher #35
Reds designated C Austin Wynns for assignment.
Wynns will likely pass through waivers again after spending a couple days up with Cincinnati as extra catching depth with Tyler Stephenson away from the team on paternity leave.
  • WAS Left Fielder #6
Jesse Winker is absent from the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Mets.
It seems like a matchup-driven decision with lefty Sean Manaea toeing the rubber for New York, but it’s worth noting that Winker has missed a pair of contests since suffering a knee contusion last Friday. He’s probably fine, but it’s something fantasy managers should keep an eye on as the week progresses.
