  • TOR Relief Pitcher #56
Blue Jays recalled RHP Zach Pop from Triple-A Buffalo.
Pop figures to provide Toronto’s bullpen with some extra length over the next few days and could wind up taking the ball this weekend in place of an injured Yariel Rodríguez, who landed on the injured list Tuesday with back inflammation.
  • TEX Starting Pitcher #51
Rangers transfer RHP Tyler Mahle to the 60-day injured list with right shoulder tightness.
Mahle’s season was already over. This was a procedural move to open space on the 40-man roster for Matt Duffy.
  • TEX Third Baseman #20
Rangers placed INF/OF Ezequiel Duran on paternity list.
Duran will be away from the team for a maximum of three days while he deals with things more important than baseball. He’s hitting .253 with three home runs and 20 RBI on the season.
  • TEX Relief Pitcher #52
Rangers optioned LHP Walter Pennington to Triple-A Round Rock.
Pennington came up in August with Josh Sborz going on the injured list. Now that Sborz is back, Pennington is back in the minors. He had a 3.00 ERA, 1.66 ERA and 17 strikeouts in 18 innings with the Rangers.
  • TEX Relief Pitcher #66
Rangers activated RHP Josh Sborz from the 15-day injured list.
Sborz has been out since early August with shoulder fatigue. A key piece of the Rangers bullpen in 2023, injuries have limited Sborz to just 16 appearances this year.
  • LAD Starting Pitcher
Dodgers optioned RHP Ben Casparius to Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Casparius is being sent down to make room for top prospect Edgardo Henriquez on the Dodgers’ active roster. Casparius had five strikeouts and allowed one run in two appearances with the Dodgers this year.
  • Dodgers selected the contract of RHP Edgardo Henriquez from Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Now it’s official. The Dodgers want to see what the 22-year-old flamethrower has in the gas tank before the playoffs. Ben Casparius was optioned to make space on the active roster and Gavin Stone was transferred to the 60-day IL to make space on the 40-man roster.
  • LAD Starting Pitcher #35
Dodgers transferred RHP Gavin Stone to the 60-day injured list with shoulder soreness.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told reporters last week that Stone’s season was likely over, but now it’s official. The Dodgers transferred him to the 60-day IL to open a spot on the 40-man roster for top prospect Edgardo Henriquez to be called up prior to Tuesday night’s game against the Padres.
  • TEX Third Baseman #69
Rangers recalled OF Dustin Harris from Triple-A Round Rock.
Harris is coming up as part of a slew of roster moves by Texas. If he gets into a game, he’ll be making his major league debut. Harris isn’t in the starting lineup for Tuesday night’s game against the Athletics. He hit .272 with 10 home runs and 53 RBI with Triple-A this year.
  • COL Shortstop #7
Brendan Rodgers was scratched from the Rockies’ lineup for Tuesday night’s game against the Cardinals.
No reason was given for Rodgers’ removal from the lineup. He’s been replaced by Aaron Schunk, who will play second base and bat ninth.
  • CHC First Baseman #29
Michael Busch (arm) left Tuesday’s game against the Phillies.
Busch was hit on his right arm, stayed in to run the bases and then was removed for defense. Hopefully, Busch merely experienced some pain from the hit by pitch and avoided a serious injury.
