  • STL Starting Pitcher #61
Cardinals RHP prospect Sem Robberse struck out six and allowed two runs over seven innings on Friday for Triple-A Memphis.
Robberse boasts the second-lowest ERA (1.82) in the International League through five starts after spinning another gem on Friday evening for Triple-A Memphis. He generated 14 swinging strikes and finished with a 32 percent CSW. The 22-year-old righty doesn’t throw hard, but he’s been effective so far in the upper minors since coming over last year in the Jordan Hicks deal with the Blue Jays.
  • PIT Shortstop #7
Isiah Kiner-Falefa went 2-for-5 with a double against the Cardinals on Thursday.
Kiner-Falefa has at least two hits in four of his last five games. He’s 9-for-20 (.450) with no home runs and one RBI in that time. The Pirates leadoff man is hitting .276 with a .705 OPS and 43 RBI on the year.
  • PIT Catcher #6
Yasmani Grandal went 1-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run against the Cardinals on Thursday.
Grandal’s home run was his eighth of the season. He tied the game with a solo shot off Andrew Kittredge in the seventh inning. Grandal is hitting .220 with a .682 OPS and 25 RBI on the year.
  • STL Left Fielder #33
Brendan Donovan went 4-for-4 with a double and two RBI against the Pirates on Thursday.
Donovan drove in a run with a single in the fourth inning and a double in the sixth inning. He has a hit in 15 of his last 17 games. Donovan is 25-for-67 (.373) with three home runs and 11 RBI in that time. He’s hitting .277 with a .756 OPS and 68 RBI on the year.
  • STL Starting Pitcher #12
Erick Fedde allowed one run and got a no-decision against the Pirates on Thursday.
Fedde gave up four hits, walked one and struck out three. He’s won just one of his nine starts with the Cardinals since coming over to St. Louis before the trade deadline. Fedde is 8-9 with a 3.38 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 144 strikeouts in 170 1/3 innings on the year. The 31-year-old right-hander is set to face the Rockies on the road next week.
  • PIT Starting Pitcher #48
Luis Ortiz allowed two runs in six innings and got a no-decision in the Pirates’ 3-2 victory over the Cardinals on Thursday.
Ortiz gave up five hits, walked two and struck out seven. He moved into the rotation on June 26th and had a 0.73 ERA in his first four starts. In his next five starts, his ERA was 6.26. Now, in his last five starts, he has a 2.93 ERA. Ortiz has been up and down this year, but there have been more positives than negatives. He’s 6-6 with a 3.43 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 102 strikeouts in 128 2/3 innings this year. The 25-year-old right-hander is set to face the Brewers at home next week.
  • NYM Left Fielder #9
Brandon Nimmo homered and drove in three runs in a victory over the Phillies on Thursday.
Nimmo’s homer was a two-run blast off Taijuan Walker — one of the four the Mets hit off the right-hander — and he also drove a run in fourth on a double. It’s nice to see from a player that came into Thursday’s game with an OPS of .610 in the month of September, and hopefully for the Mets/fantasy managers who roster Nimmo this is the start of a nice end to the month/season.
  • PHI Shortstop #7
Trea Turner hit a two-run homer in a loss to the Mets on Thursday.
Turner socked a two-run homer off Luis Severino for his 19th homer of the year, and he’s now plated 58 across 112 games. It sure would be nice to have Turner run more than he has in 2024 (15 steals in 18 attempts) but the offensive production has been there for the 31-year-old even without a huge amount of swipes.
  • NYM Catcher #4
Francisco Alvarez hit a three-run homer to help the Mets to a 10-6 win over the Phillies on Thursday.
Alvarez hit his 10th homer of the season, and it was one of of four the Mets were able to tally against a completely ineffective Taijuan Walker. The 22-year-old has disappointed with his pop in 2024 — even when you consider he missed considerable time with injury — but there’s very few backstops who have more raw pop than he does. Something to keep in mind when drafting in 2025.
  • NYM Starting Pitcher #40
Luis Severino allowed three runs in six innings to pick up a win over the Phillies on Thursday.
Severino settled down nicely after giving up a two-run homer to Trea Turner in the third, and he struck out seven while issuing only two free passes. He’s had the same six-inning, three-run line in his last two starts, and both of those have come against Philadelphia. That has seen his ERA rise up a smidgen from 3.74 to 3.79, but it’s hard to be too disappointed in those results. Severino will make his final regular season start -- assuming the Mets don’t change the rotation order -- Wednesday in a massive matchup against Chris Sale and Atlanta.
  • PHI Starting Pitcher #99
Taijuan Walker allowed eight runs in just 3 1/3 innings to take a loss to the Phillies on Thursday.
Yikes. Walker looked good during his relief stint in his last appearance, but didn’t come close to matching that success in his start. He allowed four homers, and he also gave up three free passes on top of six hits with just two strikeouts. It’s safe to say the Phillies do not currently have a fifth starter right now. Fortunately for them that won’t matter in the postseason, but at this point it wouldn’t be a surprise at all if Walker is left off the playoff roster.
