White was up with the Rangers for a handful of contests over the last few days as emergency pitching depth. The 24-year-old righty figures to return in a couple weeks, if needed.

Nimmo stole one of the three bags the Mets swiped off the Angels on Friday, and it was his 11th of the season. All three hits were singles for the outfielder, and it helped raise his average to .237. Nimmo was removed from Wednesday’s game with a left foot injury, but it sure didn’t appear to be bothering him Friday night.

Alonso is now up to 23 homers on the season, and this one was 421-foot shot off Tyler Anderson that gave the Mets a 3-1 lead. The man they call Polar Bear is now hitting .242 with a .793 OPS and 59 RBI. A smidgen disappointing, but you can do a heck of a lot worse.

It was Blackburn’s first start as a member of the Mets after joining New York at the deadline, and it was a good one. The 30-year-old allowed a run-scoring single in the second to Jo Adell, and he kept the Halos off the board over the next five frames. Blackburn walked two while striking out six, and he’ll try and repeat this effort in a start in Colorado against the Rockies next week.

Wait, Tyler Anderson still plays for the Angels? Huh. The left-hander allowed eight hits with two walks while striking out three. Two of the runs came across on a homer by Pete Alonso, and he allowed runs in the second and sixth — the latter without retiring a batter — before exiting. Anderson still has an excellent 3.05 ERA, and will be back on the mound against the Yankees on Thursday.

Machado tied the score at 1-1 in the second inning. It’s the 17th homer for the 32-year-old, and he also procured his 18th double. After a slow start to the year, Machado has worked himself into a credible .269/.319/.442 slash with 51 games to go.

Rodgers scorched a homer to left-center to give the Rockies a 1-0 lead. That’s the eighth homer of the season for the 27-year-old, who also doubled and singled. Rodgers hasn’t come close to living up to his prospect hype, but he’s had a decent little 2024 with a .271/.316/.402 slash.

Vodnik did issue a walk, but he also picked up a strikeout without allowing a hit and throwing 15-of-23 pitches for strikes. The right-hander now has five saves on the season and seems likely to get the bulk of chances for the final two months of the year. He may not be available for Saturday’s game because of the pitch count Friday, however.

Both runs allowed by Gomber came on solo homers, as he gave up one a piece to Donovan Solano and Manny Machado. Outside of that, the southpaw was outstanding while allowing just three hits outside of the roundtrippers with one walk and six strikeouts. We just don’t see this version of Gomber enough to make him a recommended fantasy streamer.

Vasquez allowed three hits — one of them a solo homer to Brendan Rodgers — and struck out four against two walks. The right-hander threw 85 pitches in the outing, and 57 of them landed for strikes. It’s a nice bounce up from his struggles against the Orioles where he gave up six runs in two innings, and it lowers his ERA to 4.62 on the season. The Pirates are next for the 25-year-old.

The 34-year-old outfielder fouled a ball off of his shin during his at-bat in the sixth inning, then didn’t take the field with the Jays to begin the seventh. Fortunately, he underwent precautionary X-rays that came back negative for any fractures. Springer should be considered day-to-day.
